multiple plants in one pot????

im a newbie and have read up alot on growin indoors so ive noticed 2 use a higher rated kelvin for veg and lower for flower but what i wanna no is can u grow multiple plants in the same pot? i no they may bet rootbound but if they stay together can they last together and produce nice yeild???

how bigs the pot... id seperate em now into 3-5 gallon buckets each.. and you want 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower

Tests done for purposes of locales that regulate the number of containers for medical show the highest yield using a single container was one with 3 plants in it, the next highest yield was a single plant topped multiple times and the lowest was a single plant left untouched. Cut the roots frequently by inserting a knife through them in several spots. They regenerate with 2 to 4 new tips. That is how the smart bags work - opposing weaves amputate protruding root tips.

they are 4 of them about 3 weeks old in a 2 gal pot....right i said higher 4 veg and lower for flower.....

naw u need to separate them i seen 4 grown in the same size pot,but they were little as shit at harvest.

You can certainly grow multiple plants in one pot, just don't start crying when something goes wrong as is highly possible ;) For example let's say one of the plants get's a defficiency, but to treat the deficiency, you as a result cause burning in the other plants.


Hard to understand why you would put all in the same pot as opposed to seperate pots, not too logical. To each their own. The only reason i can think of is money, and you're not saving money on soil, and pots cost next to nothing and you can make your own for free if you're that desperate.

yea its cuz i am on a budget but ill def make sum of my own pots so they dont choke each other out....thanks for the info and advice

I did that with some bag seed years ago. I was trying the winter sowing method with cannabis seeds. I had a wooden milk-crate style container that held about 14 gallons of soil. I only meant to grow a small three to four foot Indica, but I accidentally dropped a second seed and didn't notice until they both popped up within a few inches of each other. What happened for me was one plant grew out to be about 2 feet tall and the second plant grew to about six inches.

A similar thing happened when I grew strawberries and peppers. I've never personally lost a plant by sowing them to closely, but it's obvious to me that they are fighting for resources, and grow smaller as a result. What I do now is anytime this happens, be it with carrots or any other plant, I always snip the weaker or late sprouting one.

You guys are giving him shit advice, if YOU actually ever have tried to take to plants apart in a week or two into veg is unlikely because they grow together and you will end up messing them both up, either KILL one the more better one, or let them grow and one might be better then the others, I know I had a bunch of plants that had 2 together the only difference I notice was one plant was always much bigger and better then the other, so of course it's not a good idea to ever plant more then one in a single pot, I'd leave them and grow them out, if one die's that's fine.

well i went ahead and seperated them last night and put them all in there sep pots....lets hope in a few days with 20/4 light that they all thurn out and didnt cause much strain....thanks 4 all the advice much appreciated

putting two scraggly clones in one pot to form one plant is okay, but i don't advise starting multiple seeds. you did right by separating

Look why post something that you know nothing about? I am tired of people giving advice not from experience but from things they heard.So my babies under 24/0 are being stressed?
OP they should be fine, even if you ripped the roots a little it's not really a biggie. MJ is a pretty hardy plant and puts up with a lot of bs from us.

Yep they are and your not only wasting money by running the lights longer, it's been shown that thc builds up more when the plants are sleeping at night, Let me see you work 24/7 and not be stressed, EXACTLY.

From my experience.. I started vegging in 24-7 because my mentor believed they would be more vigorous... Turned out that a 18/6 light cycle made the plants have vigorous growth from its "sleeping time"... They like a rest for sure..

no idea why this thread keeps getting bumped but ill bump it again lol.
pretty sure that person was meaning it sounds logical, that plants need rest, but was pointing out that they don't actually need a dark period, because they are in fact C3 plants.

i exclusively grow my autos under 24/0 with great success.

hopefully you know better by now :)
