MUSHROOMS HELP ME PULL TrIGGER!

It will take about 20 min of high temps before it builds pressure, and then TURN IT DOWN. Stay close, and vary it based on weight dancing. It'll take about 2-3 minutes before any change is registered. Electric sucks for this, I prefer gas, much better control.

hey thx for the tip man re doing everything and pressure cooking on a lower temp now. hope to inoculating something in a couple hours first batch is about half way done no dancing just a steady hiss keep checking the temp yesterday i just ignored and went away to build my glove box bad idea i guess but im keeping an eye on it. thx for the help for real thx.

UPDATE. jars are cooling in the glove box (first batch second is on the pressure cooker on the floor 3rd is cooking) heres a few pics of what going on used hvac tape(becuase i can pressure cook it) to hold my filter and cover the inoc holes about to make the injection in an hour they are cool enough to hold now but i want to be sure they are cool enough. added the cfls figured the ozone would help with things a little dont know.

Heh. You have some learning to do with mushrooms poly. Time for a bong rip and my thinking cap for a recap of 3 years of mush growing..

Why only 8oz and 12oz jars? I use quarts all day. Some people complain of mold and slow growth. Multiple spore injection spots using about 2cc per quart jar and then shaking like a beast at around 10-15% of myco growth has never done me wrong.

For lids I drilled a 3/8" hole in the middle of them. I stuffed a small wad of polyfil in there followed by 2 layers of Tyvek paper. After inoculation, Another layer of Tyvek ontop. Screw on the cap. An amazing, effective, breathable filter.

You did well to go with popcorn. It is the most consistent and easiest to work with as far as substrate goes. Filtering out sunflower seeds from WBS is a pain in the ass, as is having it soak and making sure all of that red shit is off it.

Not a bad job with the box. Plastic is a real bitch to cut sometimes.

After inoculating I have never used a light because I dont want to induce premature pins while the substrate is still in a jar. Typically it doesnt until after the substrate has been consumed by myco growth, but you never know.

Why are you spawning to vermiculite and making cakes? You need to seriously look into using horse poo. Get a large crock pot / slow cooker (atleast 14qt) and look into it. When I was cheap I used vermiculite and got some mush that did something but paled in comparison to the poo. 1gram dried coming from poo was about the same as an 8th from vermiculite.

When ppl tell me that they ate a quarter or half of mushrooms and didnt feel shit, sometimes I believe them prolly cuz they got em from a guy who grew them off cakes. When I was still growing a kid boasted about eating that much and I gave him 2 grams from my own stock for free. He called me a few days later wondering if I put a drop of acid on it lol. Never done synthetic hallucinogenics, never will. Im all natural baby

to be honest i have been sidetracked from my mushrooms, only 2 of the jars out of nine have showed any movement(and its reallyslow)... im thinking my spores where too old. i plan on giving it another. i hate working with shit. i have a huge soure for horse shit but.... i dont want it! im just experimenting i need to do an update but im trying to waith till some mycelium starts showing..

to be honest i have never got any weak shrooms, i will only buy if they look and smell fresh, other wise, um no. and i never trip off my shrooms anymore i juust take enough to get a body buzz, helps keep my cluster headaches away, but when i did trip it was crazy ive only ever did shroom and that was intense enough for me at high dose

oh i was gonna say they are not under any light right now they where removed from the glove box and put into a tool box i modded to incubate, but i think some light is getting thru

Hey man. Good going so far. You seem to have gone all in. There's a good chance that your spores aren't too old. Just check the temps of the area that your jars are in. If you are able to take the temperature up to around 80, then you may see a little speed up. Also just as infini states. You can give the already myc showing jars a good shake to spread. The pcorn may start slowly, but will speed up b4 you know it. Even though you can never have to much spawn around. Why go through another inoculation if you don't have to. Good job again. Later.

I don't want to even temp you with buying/preparing something else you may not need. But, I know someone may mention an incubator.

i have a huge soure for horse shit but.... i dont want it!

Once it is pasteurised the smell is gone and the texture (when mixed with a bit of verm) goes to rich earth. Really, it's not bad at all, and I HATE shit.

On the other hand, I never heard of potency differentials between types of source nutrients (except people trying to push something like l-tryptamine into it). I'll do a run of same myc but different media and see if my tests agree.

man you know more than me, but im sure the substrate affects the quality of the mushroom or we would all grow on sawdust. i just dont like playing with shit, hell i get pissed if i get compost tea on my hands. but to be honest i dont know much about casing and media mixtures im just using what i got laying around the house, which happens to be alot.

im sure the substrate affects the quality of the mushroom or we would all grow on sawdust.

Of course it does. But not in the way you think. There is a baseline of available nutrients to be able to grow.

So when people case, they choose the easiest best for their particular strain. Historically people thought about cow crap because that' where you find the mushrooms. But in many cases, the fungus was in the grass and the poop merely triggered some pinning. Coco coir has almost the same available amount of nutrients as crap, and is easier to get and deal with (at least to me).

Remember, fungus is not plants, and just becuase cow crap is the highest concentration of nutrient that people think abount, that's for plants. Fungus can make use of far more sources of food, and will produce enzymes on the fly depending on what type of food is in front of it.

But, all this depends on the species. The cubes like coir or crap, hell, they love it, and will pin easily in it.

But the pans? Nope. They will usually spawn into grain and coir, but will not pin or fruit. So you have to transition them into wood, ie, via sawdust and plugs. Then they will consume that wood and kick ass. They are also FAR stronger than the cubes.

So are the pans stronger because they live on wood? Who the fuck knows. But wood has a lot of energy and nutrients in it, if you can just produce the enzymes to digest it. And they can.

Which refers back to your sawdust statement.

sawdust was just a cheap source thats all, i just meant if cheap stuff grew the best stuff everyone would use it. but that post was very informative.

i plant on casing with my soil on most as it contains all of that stuff in some form(coco coir, manure, compost peat lime and its been decomposed since i reuse my soil), im just gonna pressure cook it all since i dont have too many jars, im gonna have my hand at some grain to grain transfer and i checked on them today and finally seeing some growth in some more jars.

then i was gonna do a casing with hay and vermiculate and worm castings to try the low nute way.

as far as my strains go... i forgot to mark the jars and may have double inoculated one with 2 strains, is there any difference in the mycelium that i would be able to tell?
