Music while growing

I believe that plants do respond to sound stimulus, lie talking to your plants and playing music aroung them. If noise helps in growth faster pace music is ideal. It would also make sense that the vibration from the soung waves would cause the plants to vibrate at high sound levels. I personally have a small stereo in a small grow closet going all the time. I only play metal, jazz, and clasical music to my plants. And even if it doesnt help the plants at all music's the best.

I have read in a few different books about the music positively affecting them through the sound vibrations, and also MythBusters on the Discovery Channel did a pretty rigorous experiment, even going as far as to try different genres of music in different greenhouses and it without a doubt showed better growth on plants with the music. Not sure how this translates to flowering tops :) but I'd say it certainly doesn't hurt. Besides, all the old hippies I know do it :)

Yes music will make your plant grow, but the more intense the music is the better, plus louder is better. So if you are constantly using death metal at an insanely loud level, it will work. Basically it works like this:
Loud constant noise or music = Plant grows a little better
No noise or music = It doesnt hurt your plant

I wait until the ears are protruding at least 1" then I start gently playing Joe Esposito's "You're the Best Around" from The Karate Kid soundtrack.
Works 60% of the time, EVERY time.

Im a music engineer and producer. Im always looking for how music can effect things. thanks for the input.

GrowGreenGreen thanks for the article. I was thinking of using an oscillator at a low freq to cause plant vibration. A freq below human hearing.

It cant hurt.
