Sickest PC grow i've seen yet!
DWC all the way!

Could you take a pic of your light set-up with the lights off plz?
Are they just Floro tubes?
I've been using T8's(400mm) in my PC setup as a stealth clone/veg chamber and only use 20 - 30W. How do you get 165W?

Ampt 2 see the buds:weed:!
Subbed...

Not the OP, but I can answer some of this. PLLs are basically another form of compact fluorescent. For lack of a better description, they are like t5 tubes bent in half. That is, you can fit 55w into the same spaces as a much lesser wattage t5.

So the OP can put 165w of PLLs where you might be able to fit a small bank of 24w t5s. With 165w, the OP can get roughly 14400 lumens.

If any of this interests you, go to google or any other search engine and look for "PLL club". You will find links to a huge thread at ICMag.

How many times are you changing your res a week?
I check the res everyday and top up with water/nutes or adjust the pH as needed. The res is completely changed once a week.

OP, how are your temps with the case closed up? `165w of PLL can get things toasty in small spaces like this. One guy over at ICMag put glass right under his tubes and blew air across the tubes and out the back.
It's summer now, so the temps are a bit high. Temperatures can get to 28-30 °C (82-86 °F) with the lights on. However, whenever the lights are on I usually leave one of the side panels of the case slightly off it's "locked" position, creating a small crack along the sides and top of the panel. This greatly improves airflow and temperatures drop to 20-22 °C (68-72 °F). I might be losing a tiny bit of light reflectivity but I figure the drop in temperature is a worthy trade off.

Not the most ideal or elegant solution, but I am happy with it. I only need the case to be stealthy during business hours when I'm away at work, and that is the lights out period when the case stays closed and unsuspicious.

brotherjericho already answered that perfectly. PL-Ls are the way to go if you want to use fluorescents (and if it fits your space). I'll just add that I use 3x 55w tubes (1x 6500k, 2x 2700k). Each tube measures about 50 cm (20"). I will post pics of the lights tomorrow.

Oh, and I almost forgot: after doing lots of reading yesterday, I flipped the lights to 12/12 already. I was under the impression that you had to wait until the screen was 100% filled before flipping to 12/12, and then training was over after that. Apparently you should keep training for the first 2 weeks of 12/12, and only after that you should let them grow vertically above the screen. Which sounds a bit weird because I thought the plants pretty much stopped growing after the first 2 weeks of flowering. But if EVERYONE says this is the way to do it then I'm not gonna argue :)

Now I'm a bit worried that I'll end up with an overgrown screen, since space is already starting to feel kinda tight. I'm starting 12/12 with the screen about 75% full, we'll see how it goes. More pics soon.

Hi everyone, time for another upgrade. There's not much to tell, really... I've started 12/12 6 days ago, so the plants are stretching like craaazy. No flowers yet. Scrog training is becoming a major chore... today I spent 1 hour on it! Can't wait for the end of training and for some serious bud production!

Here are some pics:

Damn dude. I don't know how I haven't noticed this thread yet.

Looking fantastic my friend, I am looking forward to seeing how much you can yield off of 3 plants and 165 watts!

Wow, looking real good! Have you seen Pinstripe's grow over on IC? Wonder what 160W of LED would do in the same space..

Subbed, and rep.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates. There was just not much going on for a while. Plants were just doing their early flowering stretching, I was pruning some leaves, etc. Now I am at 2 weeks of flowering and things are not looking good :(

For some reason, my plants keep stretching like crazy!! Basically they are hitting the lights now and the top buds are roasting :(
I don't know what's causing the stretching... I flipped to 12/12 four weeks ago... there was supposed to be no stretching at this point.
I don't know if it's the genetics or some sort of design flaw in my cabinet. The genetics are supposed to be mostly indica, so hmm. I feel like my cabinet has plenty of light as well, so that's probably not the reason either. Maybe the screen was placed too far away from the lights?

If inadequate lightning was the problem, wouldn't the plants just stop stretching when they got near the lights?

Notice how insanely long the inter nodal spacing is on these plants... it's hard to get the scale right without an object for reference, but you can probably fit a soda can between these nodes... I truly don't get what's going on.

Anyway... some bud shots :weed:

Should I just suck it up and cut away the upper tops that are touching the light? I feel like the plant will just be wasting energy on something that is doomed to be roasted anyway. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

CLIP THEM AND TIE THEM DOWN!!!!! Idrk why you thought youd have room to do anything but 12/12 from seed, but if you want them to go on id recomend getting rid of one and LSTing to the screen

Doing two plants the way you did is fine and everything except you may have forgotten to take into consideration keeping their nodes as super tight as you possibly can by stacking things under your pot to bring them close to the light and gradually bring them lower as the plants stretch. There seems to be a lot of stretch inbetween nodes.

Its not that bad however it will effect your yield. I would just keep topping off the parts that are getting burned and leaving the rest to grow. Another option would be to make some sort of light diffuser barrier inbetween your lights and the plant or simply lower your light output.

If you can build another grow box quickly and get the supplies, i would personally just start taking clones until the stretch has subsided that way the parts you are cutting off dont go to waste. Youre still pretty early into flower to do so (i think, could be wrong. If so someone correct me please)

Dude use bush load or bushmaster. They are designed to stop stretching. Also a triple dose of roots excel can stop stretching.

That strain tends to stretch alot..... I would have made a bigger case. Super nice PC grow btw. Lots of thought went into this.

If you triple dose roots excel vertical growth will stop and the plant will focus on root development instead
