My 1st Cool Cab Grow

Wzup Team,

I've been lurking here for a while and decided, its time to put in my two cents. I appreciate all the extensive posts and journals that gave me the confidence that I could do this myself.

I decided to go with the Cool Cab. I know I could have done it cheaper myself. But, I'm lazy and I had a couple extra dollars to spare. First, Sunlight Sheds took FOREVER to send out my Cool Cab. It says on the website, and I was told by reps, that it would probably take 3 days. It ended up taking TWO WEEKS! Once the Cab arrived I had all of the important pieces, was only missing a small grommet for the back-up reservoir. All in all, so far so good. I will reserve judgment on the Cab until harvest.

I couldn't decide where to put the Cab bcuz I have 4 young kids and a nosey Mother-in-Law. So, I ended up putting it out in the garage. Being in Detroit, I am a bit concerned about temps. But, we will see.

I was lucky enough to have a friend deliver some fresh clones to my doorstep. 14 in total, 7 different strains.

1 Big Bud
1 Sensi Star
2 King Kush
2 Jack Herer
2 Mr. Foam
2 Burmese x Fuckin Incredible
4 Shishkaberry

I put all 14 clones under a 24hour flor. light cycle. My clone fairy says they were dipped in gel already. So, I just misted them with some tap water (117ppm)

Checked on the babies at noon.
  • All plants are beginning to droop down and seem a bit dry
  • some have developed brownish yellow tips on the leaves
  • misted all with H2O and Spray & Grow
  • Checked PH...Tad High at 7.0
  • Concerned about cloning gel

Checked in at 4pm
  • Wilting getting worse
  • Tips of leaves getting more discolored
  • Realized Spray & Grow should be diluted/did so
  • Noticed NO roots starting
  • Started CO2 Boost on low
  • Misted all plants with Spray & Grow/H2O solution
  • Wet plugs with H2O
  • Ph Lower @ 6.5
Turned on HPS light at 11pm. Not lighting the clones, just want to use the heat. Temps getting low at night; down to 65. Misted again.

Checked in at 9am
  • More wilting and drooping. I am very concerned
  • Ph-ed the H2O in the reservoir down to 5.0
  • Ph-ed Spray & Grow solution up to 5.0
  • Misted all clones
  • Fresh air for 30 min
  • Noticed NO ROOTS yet
  • Notice less sweat on Dome since adding CO2 (Maybe tube placement)
Should I be concerned about the lack of rooting?

Sounds good what you are doing. With clones I try to keep them on the warmer side. I mist mine daily, wipe the dome daily. For the heat issue, I used a heater, be putting it facing the back of the cabinet so the intakes bring in the warmer air. Good luck.:peace:

It could take anywhere from 7 days to a month for the clones to root, so keep them warm, moist and not too much light on them.

I also don't think you need to use co2 on the clones as yet, they are currently working on their roots and not on their vegetative growth. Patience is the key with clones. I would also not use any spray and grow either. Wait until your clones are rooted first , for now just use plain water.
