SHiiiiii after todays reading binge I almost feel like I could harvest everything this weekend, but I'm not gonna do it.
I figure I'll chop what I can and let the rest do the do for a little longer.
I've found that the general consensus is that I should harvest most of my plants when they're clear/cloudy but not yet amber, given the fact that they're indica hybrids for the most part this crop.
Prior to this reading binge I was under the impression that I should be seeing some amber before I pull things for sure, but it seems that's more of a haze rule?

Any input?

i would only chop one to a time. trimming can get seriously exausting and better to leave the plants growing than to cut them down and leave em overnight. as far as wether they are ready or not thats up to you man, i dont check trich's (well i do but i dont go by them when to harverst i just think they look cool as hell under a 100x pocket scope)

harvest when you feel they are ready, mostly orange hairs means they are pretty much done with bud development, each white hair represents a new calyx formed, each bud is the collection of hundreds of calyx's no white hairs means no new calyx's no new calx's means buds arent growing......they can swell all they want but that in my mind is generally more water weight than plant material.

Given all I've read, what you posted is spot on. No new light hairs, no new bud growth. Makes since.
Looking at my autobub right now it's giving me foxtails on some of the buds which might be it's final spurt?!?
I've read over and over again that once the hairs start receding into the calyx's, things are done! I thought my autobub was finishing up,
but like i said it's pushing thru one more wave of white hairs!

MY allergies are F'n with me, so I can stand to be around all the lights checkin trichs due to my eyes watering...

basicly from what i gather out of the trichome scoping is the ripeness of the actual trichs and the chemical changes thats going on in there effect the type of high you get. me personally i dont like a couchlock high(mostly amber) so i just yank em once they stop packing on weight..

But your saying the fox tails are a bad things? Why would you stop them if new calyxs are forming? Would you not wanna wait until the tirchs have did their do, and the buds have finished forming??
Also read that foxtails occur due to high heat as well and my temps are a constant 77-80, but I did have the CFLs pretty close to the tips of the autobub, so it could have occurred due to the little radiant heat that they do put off being enough..

When I get my damn eyes back I'll keep and eye on the trichs for sure tho.
Definitely trying to see a few things tho, like hairs receding in calyxs or being a majority red and withered, and the trichs being most cloudly of course.
