My 1st Growing Experience

Well, I have a couple grow journals going, on two other sites. However, I believe, you should seek out input from others. That have been doing it for decades or brand new. Here it goes with my setup, and then a quick outline, of what, I've done.
3x4 tent
400w MH/HPS ballast (am upgrading to 600w when these new bulbs need replaced)
6" carbon filter exhaust system
Temp/Humidity controller
Clip on fan
Window fan used as canopy/light fan! It works great!
3x white widow feminised seeds
3x 3 gallon smart pots
FF Ocean Forest
Flower Power Nutes, something like that.

I'm a 1st time grower, so I'm not going to list all the ups and downs. The past 3 weeks have been very smooth though, and no problems. I figured shit out to say the least.
I set out to grow for the first time. With the intention of doing a ScrOG. One of the first things I read, about growing weed. Was an article about ScrOGing and white widow strain. Everything got real hectic at home for a couple weeks, and I didn't get the screen up in time, for when I wanted it done. Plus, I needed to put them into flowering sooner than, I thought.
They were topped previously each, but that was it, I was pretty afraid of killing them. After decided to not use the screen, I bent a couple top colas over to even the canopy out. Maybe a week ago, but the next night, I decided to LST all three girls. The night after that, I finished the LST work, and had a much larger, and completely flat canopy. They stayed like that for a few days.
A few days later they were watered, and last night, I went for a defoliation. Tonight will tell me how well the decision worked out. You'll see in the pictures. The old look, and the new look of them. I feel you may of done a bit too much defoliation.
Yeah, defoliation is funny to me. For some, one plant is to much, and to others, it's great. You're the first to comment about it being to much, but thanks for the reply anyhow. Why do you think to much defoliation was done then? This is my first grow, so learn I g from all different types of people and experiences. Just cause, I don't like ones way doesn't make it wrong, but I can still learn something from it I believe. Here is from tonight, right now. This is just about 24 hrs after the defoliation was done. Looks like you could defoliate A LOT more..... check out scrogging, lollipopping, mainlining, supercropping and LST techniques. you can control the way the plant grows and how it grows by defoliation. its very beneficial for the plants.. it will do everything it can to keep even the smallest bud sites growing wasting lots of energy where you don't want it. defoliation allows the plant to focus on certain parts of the plants instead of the WHOLE thing.
Also.. where the light isn't penetrating to the middle of your plant the leaves will wilt and fall off. but you will see the small colas trying to grow... Lots of people remove the entire bottom +/-30% or so of the plant because of this problem.
ONE MORE THING... defoliation helps with heat, air flow and humidity which can be a problem in super dense ladies.
To much, of course is a very bad thing... but marijuana is an extremely resilient. you have room to make mistakes, and its important to make mistakes. just be careful causing too much stress during flowering.

That being said... i think you did a wonderful job. just don't defoliate all at once, either.
