Well all three are looking really nice. When I left for work this morning the EasyRyder was still trying to shed the husk. When I got home from work the husk was gone and it looks to be taller. So far everything seems to be going fine. Temps are still holding steady. I am looking at a way to get my carbon filter up off the ground and out of the way. Looks like I will be moving the fan outside the cabinet and probably mount to the top of the cabinet. The filter canister that I have is 20" long itself. My cabinet is 5'Hx3'Wx2'D. The only place I can hang it up is up on the left side but that area leaves me no room for the ducting. Looks like I am going to buy an Elf canister. Found them online for $44.95. They are 10" long and will fit perfectly hanging up on the right side. Which is the same side as the exhaust. I will have an elbow inside which will allow the ducting to connect straight from the canister to the exhaust. Can't wait to get this done. Maybe I can sell the carbon filter I have on craigslist? Anyway here are the pics I took today forgot to take one of the temps.P9100047.jpgView attachment 1148812View attachment 1148813View attachment 1148814P9100046.jpgView attachment 1148816View attachment 1148817View attachment 1148818

I can't believe that 6 days ago I put 3 seeds in water and soaked overnight and now they are nice looking seedlings. 5 days ago I put them into soil. I checked on them a few hours ago before I left for work. They are looking good. The easyryder has really sprouted up. Just 24 hours ago it was still fighting to shed the shell. It has since gotten rid of the shell and is now the tallest of the three! It is definitely to the top of the pot with one of the onyx right behind it. Funny because this onyx was the last seed to show the taproot and went into soil about 5 hours after the other two. Just thought I would give a quick update and share my good feeling. Can't wait to get home and check in on them. I also ordered an elf carbon filter last night should be here in a few days. It's half the size of my other filter and will definitely ba able to hang at the top of my cabinet freeing up valuable real-estate down below.

They seem to be doing well. Getting a little taller. Just gave them a little drink. The only thing I am worrying about right now is the level of my soil in the pot. They are in little 4" pots and to me it seems the soil is a little low, about 1" from the top of each pot. I also have a little gravel in the bottom of each pot. Maybe a half inch. Just wondering if I have anything to be worrying about? Thanks for any advice you can give! I'll post some pics a little later!

Thanks 3lions and tsky for the advice! Well it's been a week and they are coming along really nice! At least to this rookie they look nice. I guess now I just wait for a couple more weeks and then transplant. I still have the light on 24 hrs. May switch it to 20/4 when I transplant. Still not sure on that. The temps seem to be alright. The max it has been is 84 degrees and a low of 77 degrees. I think I am alright in this range? Any suggestions or am I missing anything so far? Thanks for checking out my medicine grow!P9130057.jpgP9130053.jpgP9130059.jpgP9130055.jpgP9130063.jpgP9130061.jpg

props on getting some legit led tech. I'll be watching this grow.
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah so far I'm happy with my light! Can't wait to see the end result. Hopefully I don't screw things up to bad. I'm a rookie trying to learn. Looking forward to getting my elf filter. Gonna do a little modification and hang a smaller filter up top and move the fan outside the cabinet.

Doing alright gave them a drink this morning before work. In the pics I have today one of the seedlings (which is the easyryder) leaves are kinda curling. The other two(the Onyx) the leaves are fine. Anything for me to be worrying about? Tomorrow I will be heading to the store for some supplies(spray bottle, measuring glass) just wondering what some of you are using to measure the PH in your soil and water? Any ideas on a cheap decent meter to buy? Are the soil test kits any good? I really need something decent and not to expensive any ideas would be nice. ThanksP9140064.jpgP9140078.jpgP9140071.jpgP9140076.jpgP9140072.jpgP9140077.jpgP9140073.jpgP9140068.jpg

highly recommend a digital pen type meter thingy. i suspect about 35 bucks or so. It will save you a lot of headaches.

nothing to worry about so far from those pics

edit. tho would watch the humidity, you dont want it too dry, tho it will take more heat

cool thanks for the info I was thinking of some type of digital meter. About the humidity I have been wondering about the RH level. I put a little bowl of water in there last night. Didn't seem to change much. Are you saying I can let Them get warmer in there? Any suggestions on bring the RH level up? I appreciate it! I should be up around 60% right?

no probs. The solution ph testers do work ok but trust me, they are a pain.

They prefer it more humid in veg than they do in flower generally so yeahh about 60% or so would be ideal. As for temps, yours are fine, infact uo to about 78-80 will be fine. If you have good temps ongoing then you will be able to get the plants real close to the lights, the closer the better.

Bowl of water with fan blowing on it may help. You can get a small electronic humidifier, same as you can get de-humidifiers if there were real issues. they run about 50 bucks praps.

I was wondering about the solution kits. Thanks I think I'll stick with something simple and find a decent cheap digital ph meter today after work. Stupid question these digital meters you can use for the soil and testing your water right? I checked in on them this morning before work the temp was 77 degrees and RH was at 44%. I was also thinking about the light height also. I was thinking with t led you can have them closer but the manufacterer recommended up to 24" above to let the spectrum mix better. I am currently at about 22" above.

. Thanks for checking it out! Yeah I can't wait to see the end result. So far things are going good. The only thing I would have Done different was to plant them in their final pot instead of starting them in a 4" pot. Apparently autos should start off in their final pot. At least that is what I have read and been told.

Okay, well if the manufacturers instructions say that specifically I would stick to that then. LED is still pretty new. Next time you can try closer with the same strain perhaps and test the differences for yourself :-) The Ph metres I am referring too are.. actually this is the one I have. They are really for just testing your water and feed (in water) If it is good soil it 'should' take care of itself but you can test the run off using a syringe to suck up some water to test :-)

Right on I really appreciate the info! I understand now about the testing of the runoff water. I was thinking those meters tested the soil also lol. One more thing what about ec/Tds ppm meters? Are those more for hydroponics? I noticed on the nutrient feeding chart it mentioned ppm. Just wondering if need to get this type of meter also? Thanks for your help I appreciate it!

I know the PPM is important on hydro grows but have never heard of PPM in the context of soil. I think you were on the right track.
