I would say one degree down on the AC will cover the heat from going from 23w to 42w.

Ok. It took me forever but Im gonna finally finish off this thread.

I had some problems on my cruise(got busted by customs for weed and had to pay a $1200 fine) and was broke when I got back so I never did switch to 42W bulbs.

I had somebody that was supposed to be taking care of my girls while I was gone but when I got back there was a spider mite infestation, they were all totally starving for water and alot of the leaves were drying up. They were in bad shape so i really had to baby them for a couple weeks.

I harvested at 7 weeks and in spite of the spider mite problem and them drying up and only using 24W bulbs I ended up with 2 and 1/8 OZs. of some really good bud. That was without even trying. I cant believe it.

With just a couple of tweaks I think I could easily double that. 2 OZs falls a little short of my needs but hell that could easily supply an average smoker with enough bud to kee a smile on their face.

Finally here are some pics.

I forgot to take pics before I started harvesting but here is a group shot of the last four.

Yeah Man. Cool experiment. And this was a very effortless, no brainer grow.

There is no excuse to not grow your own. I mean, who doesnt have a 2'x2' space somewhere. Right?

could you give us some more details about your ventilation? what type and size of fan and what are the temps?
I used a 4" inline duct fan for exhaust and a 4" passive intake. I had a couple of 4" desktop fans that I set on top of the 125W lamp reflector to keep air circulating. The box was in a climate controled room and the temps usually stayed around 78 degrees but at times would hit 80. I tried to keep the box door open when I could and that helped. If i did it over again I would use a 6" fan instead of a four and maybe use a 4" for an intake.

A little eye candy of the last 2 strains that were grown in the box.

Im still blown away by the good weed that came out of that grow. These were the tightest most dense nugs. And I never did change those 24W bulbs for the 42W.

Ive started using my growroom where I kept the box and unfortunately there is now no room for it. I would love to keep experimenting. I have the lights and fans... Ive got to find another spot.(the box is a little obtrusive, it wasnt built for stealthness.)

Darkdestruction and Illegal Smile, Thanks for the comments.

If I had put more thought into this I would have done a couple things differently. Like I would have scrapped the idea of buying this 125W light fixture and just made a couple more light bars. The second thing is I would have used a 6" fan instead of a 4". Third I would have built a screen and put two plants in there.

Thanks for the advice on the lights. I am running some errands this afternoon and will look for some 42W bulbs and if not TOO expensive I will pick some up. I will probably buy some materials to make a couple more light bars and scrap that fixture also.

One thing Im worried about though. Do you guys think it will bring temps up much if I switch from 23W to 42W?
Haha im def goin with a screen next time too O.O
Even with CFLs and being able to place the lights wherever if growing in a space like yours it seems so much space gets wasted don't it? Granted its only 4 ft but a screen fills the whole thing up perfectly haha. Im DEF gonna do that next time too =P

For sure. even with the nine plants that I had stuffed in there, there was so much wasted space.
I was shooting for an ounce and was very surprised when I got more than two ounces. But I could have EASILY doubled that with a screen I think.:bigjoint:
