my 250-400 galaxy ballast grow at last

i had to delete a duplicate post i think im gonna up my res. level to 7 gal. from 5 as the plants are starting to drink i dont want my plants to deplete the nutes so fast my res. is capable of holding 10 gal. but im using the same tote to hold my plants that im using for my res so 10 gal. would run over also the increased volume of nutrients will flood higher on the pots making a higher volume of nutes in my coco my canopy is pretty much filling up im afraid theyre gonna stretch to the point the screen might become unaffective next option is gonna be to tie branches to the screen as its getting harder to push the limbs back through the screen but these are all minor issues the big picture is all good & im gonna work on cooling my light with fans & ducting in the next few days as well as some odor control

i got the chance to get in & do some work today so i took advantage of the time & addressed some issues i took a pill bottle & ground 2 slots near the top & put 2 tsp. of ona gel in it & set it in the intake side of the reflector & i hooked up 6'' fan & ducting for a little odor & temp control combined so-far so-good on both issues im legal but dont want to advertise i sprayed with an organic spray for spidermites last night my hood is cool to the touch the 400w. is a lot easier to cool than the 1000 & 600 were all of my canopy except the left rear side of my room has filled in & its been a week & all my clones are still standing all told a good week-end for me in spite of being warned against it ive got a cc-blackwater im gonna put in my next grow

whoa they grew 4X in two weeks! looking good man. have you grown with a screen before? or just something your trying with the smaller wattage?

i tried to use the ona with my first indoor attempt and ended up getting a filter. it will cover the smell but it would use a lot. legal is nice though less worry. I'm always jealous of those in more tolerable states.

hey dopeydog man am i glad to see you i dont get much company around here thanks for stopping by the screen is a new experience for me & there is definatly a learning curve to it i dont think i got it quite right for a genuine scrog but its doing what i wanted it to which is support my canopy im about done filling it in my nieghbors back door is about 18' from my growroom door & the fence that separates his back patio from mine is only about 9' away from my room been growing back to back crops for about 4 years or so in that same room & out of my grows this strain is the only one he has smelled he thinks there is a skunk prowling around as we live in town but on the outskirts we own our place as well as his so there is not much he can do but i like things to go smooth on the home front the smell of 4 plants is easier to cover than 6 & ive sealed the room off so the only air that exits is through the 6'' air cooled hood & the ona-gel filled pill bottle one of the traits of this strain is the production of large 3 fingered leaves throughout the grow cycle prior to this grow my room was empty for a couple of months & i just got my first month bill running the room & ive got a $13.00 increase in electricity use im really liking how efficient this set-up is running that was running the 250w. @ 18 hrs for 2 wks & 16 hrs-2wks. now its on 400w. for 12 hrs a day but im not anticipating a large jump in my bill

i just got my bill in the mail myself, it has gone up about $55 running a 600 some t-5s and the fans. i had thought it may be worse myself while at the same time wishing it were better. i have friends with double my bill with no grow just addicted to leaving everything running in the house so i guess it's no worry. the difference between running the 250 for 18hrs or 400 for 12hrs should be almost unnoticeable only slightly more for the 400 x 12hrs. I'm curious how well you will do with the 400 for harvest. i had wanted to buy a 400watt myself and somehow got talked into buying the 600watt. i can't go to the grow store with a wad of cash i always come home with things i wish i had better researched.

how funny your neighbor thinks there is a skunk near. is there a noticeable difference with the ona? i had heard keeping a fan moving on it makes it work better like you are doing, that's something i did not try.

i started out with a 400w. light & bought a used 600w. then a 1000w. the 600 is my favorite more economical to operate than the 1000 & close to the same yield a good balance of output & economy my switcheable ballast was $112.00 this grow will tell me if i can come close to the output of the 600 i almost bought a 400-600 switchable ballast but the some of the 250w. grows ive seen are impressive & im really stoked on trying to get this set-up dialed in ive downsized to a hobby level grow i used to run 2 rooms a 1000w. 4x4 e&f & a 6000w. 3x3 e&f my power bill was about $170.00 a month extra

im getting a lot of new growth & im gonna increase my res. volume up to 7-1/2 gal from 5 gal. as im having to top it off every 2 days my growth is a little lighter green than i like today is 10 days since the flip & im wondering if the 2 gal smart pots are gonna be big enough or if i should of stuck with the 3 gal ones my ona-gel setup seems like its gonna work ill know in the next few weeks as buds get farther along in development ive got a gang of new growth & buds are developing right on schedule i started running my light at night as the room operating temps are easier to control & if we have company no fans or anything are running & no odor whatsoever is coming out of the room the light comes on @ 6:00pm & go off @ 6:00 am. my prefered light schedule

raining away no work today gave my clones a light foliar feeding today theyre now 10 days old & it looks like all are gonna make it my plants are getting too far through the screen to weeve back through i just snapped a branch trying to push it back through the screen so im pretty much done with training from below the screen if i have to bend anything ill get some twine & tie it down from the top

still raining & im home again today & it seems i just got too much time on my hands & right on schedule the buds are coming i upped my nutrient level to 7-1/2 gals. from 5 gal. to keep more nutrients available to the plants my newer growth is a little lighter green than i would like next feeding im gonna start adding floranectar & floralicious bloom to the mix the floralicious bloom is replacing the floralicious plus ive been using im having getting pics to post right but theyre here just not in the order i wanted
