my 2nd grow any advice

hi there my felow growers im a big time newb as my name says. i just started my 2nd grow after all my babbys died from them twating pests and im just in need of some advice really. i have a prity gheto setup and i mean well shit i got soil and a light and all that but im just at the germantion stage no i just put like 30 seeds into water and need to know like how to prep soil and room temps and all that tryed to follow like 3/4 guides but not one was the same so i thought ask the littel dudes that no so mutch i read on this sight all the time but firs time poster so plz be nice ish thanks. newbie

After I germinate my seeds, I plant them in 16oz beer cups using the soil straight out of the bag. I give them 1 good watering, then put them under the humidity dome. Once they break the ground, I move them out of the dome. I just try to keep my temperatures between 70-85 when the lights are on. A pH meter or tester is essential as well. A electronic pH meter will run you about $30-40 on ebay. Other than that just remember it's a weed and the possibilities are endless.

Heres a tip: try to find a soil mix online that is ph balanced so that you just have to add plain tap water. Subcools super soil is a perfect example look it up. The bottom of your pot gets filled with "hot" (rich in nutrients) soil and top with your base soil. Roots grow into the bottom layer when they are ready and you never have to feed them... ever. No ph monitoring is required either apparently as long as you use the soil he recommends. (either 2 parts FF ocean forest and 1 part FF light warrior or all 'roots organic soil mix')

Also if you dont setup some sort of ventilation you'd better keep them out in the open where there is lots of air exchange and not in a typical enclosure like you always see on here. You should really just go buy some fans though. Go to home hardware and get two 6" in-line duct booster fans (one for intake, one for exhaust) and one good oscillating fan to keep a steady breeze just above your plants so their leaves are always moving during lights on. Ventilation is the key basic component your missing. I would grow in a completely different location from where you had the pest problem but if you cant you should completely disinfect and scrub down everything with a bleach solution before you even think of putting any new plants there

thanks for all your posts i have a fan blowing on my pots and i am useing plagon light mix and i have boosted the ph to 6.5/.7.5 so no probs there i am also yousing formulx for food i also have some bat/worm shit for the trancfer to 5gal when they get big and yes i made sure i scrubed the full room top to botom i even got a steamer for carpets lol i dont have/carnt aford a dome so im useing clear plastic over to tops of my pots and as for temp i keep it betwen 73/80. i think this is ok but at the end off the day it is basicly my 1st/2nd groow carnt really say 2nd because they all died lol any more advice or am i just going on try and find out lol one more thing i am useing a cfl light with 1050 lumens and i am geting a second e40 x2 with 2150 lumens will this be ok for 10 pots it seams to cover them ok and plants dont streatch to mutch

got 3 seeds put in soil with clear plastic overthem.in a dark room there doing ok how long will it be before they sprout ?. iv got them 1/4 inc in lightly goverd with a bit of soil no nutrs in the water but give them a bit just a light spray. and the room temp is at 75f
