Get too close and you will know....those babies will bleach like you won't believe...and continue to bleach....white white...not in a pretty way either.

Watch the tops close. A foot is safe...anything less. keep close watch.

I have my ufo around 14 inches and they are growing fast and are getting very bushy, I had it around 8 inches and it made my leaves shrivel, i found it works great anywhere between 12 and 14 inchs off

i got my clones for this led test, heres the link. i wont be posting too much on this thread since its an old one. ill be on this new one from now on.

the only advise is to keep ur lights close to ur plants 6-12" as long as it can still fit ur foot print.

LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W pro source LED LIGHT

great thread! it def inspired me to get my own 90w UFO =)

peep my journal if you get some free time... id love to know if I'm on the right path or not.

but keep up the great work! your ladies look beautiful!!!

Any of you guys try out the 300W or 600W LED units? I have (2) 90w L.E.D's from PS and one 400w HPS cool tube and must say that I prefer the 2 90watts due to them needing so much less. I can push right around a gram per watt with the LED's so I was thinking it maybe worth buying (2) of the 300watt $1250.00 units. Give me some feedback if anyone has any.

your harvest is looking good. i ordered feminised auto ak47 and feminised papaya. This is only my second grow indoors and my fourth time growing period. everything i know is from hightimes magz and just hands on. this time around im growing in my closet only one plant at a time. So i got some coast of maine lobster soil, and bat guano. i also was looking for some bloom but didnt know whether to go with tiger bloom or the advanced nutrients bloom i always see in the hightimes so i just went with the advanced nutruients. The stuff i got is called bud candy its 0-0-1 i guess its supposed to make the buds bigger and more crysatally so i got that. I also bought a 90 watt triban ufo led, from all the reviews ive read this is supposed to be pretty dank and it has no heat signature nothing you should worry about so if anyone has any tips for me if i should grab anything else reasonable then please let me know. i hope im not setting myself up for failure but i think this setup might actually work. keep ya posted. blaze something

ya just not good. the yield would be low. and you would have to keep them real short, witch i am guessing you are since ur doing 4 plants in a 2x2' area. i would get more watts for sure or use CFL with it

how would a Illuminator Pro-Series Hybrid 350W do anyone know?... don't wanna spend 1200 bucks on something that don't work... also would like to know max amount of plants able to grow under 1 of them and approx. yield...

or is 2 180watt ufo led for 360 watts better?

Will 1 90w quad band UFO handle 4 plants in a 2'x2' area start to finish?
I started out with 3 plants in a 3'x2' with 2 - 90W UFOs. When they hit their growth spurt I quickly needed supplemental CFLs (10 - 23W 6500K). Once flowering began, I ended up getting an additional 140W LED and now feel I have enough to saturate the canopy & penetrate down about a foot or two.

If you go the UFO route, look for ones with 60 or 90º lenses. The 120º lens, while it has the widest footprint, it is just too spread out to get decent penetration with just one or two units.
