my absolute shatter issues

Can someone give me advice on what I might be doing wrong. I have watched many videos on YouTube and read different forum posts on how to make shatter but I keep failing. I am experimenting so I don't want to use good buds. I am using old dried buds and/or dried trim. maybe that is my issue? So here are the steps I have followed so far. also a note I live in Oregon so we have a lot of humidity.

1) I pack the tube with material
I then cover the end with two non bleached coffee filters
I then blast tubes of 7X refined butane through the tube into a glass collection bowl until the liquid runs clear
I then let the butane evap off until almost gone
(here i have tried two different things which did not seem to change results)
I tried mixing it with alcohol and then freezing it for 24 hours
SECOND TRY ; I tried putting it in a vacuum chamber and vacuuming out the air for an hour stopping once in a while to stir up the oil then vacuuming out the air again.
then adding the alcohol and putting it in the freezer for 24 hours.
(the last is all the same )
after freezing it I pull it out and filter is through non bleached coffee filters into a glass.
then I put it onto a Pyrex dish that is on a griddle set to around 225F with the Pyrex dish sitting at about 110 - 130F
I then let that sit until it is all evaporated away but it never gets hard after scraping it up . the best I get is a thick sap.

can anyone give me suggestions on what I can do to actually make this stuff right?

OH and with the alcohol I have tried everclear and ISO 91%

Shatter is carboxylic acid. The older and dryer the material, the less likely it is to make shatter, because the drying process accelerates decarboxylation into a non polar phenol, as does heat.

We like material with about 5/7 days drying on it, or when the small twigs snap. At that point it has about 25% moisture content and still has its lighter terpenes.

After winterizing, try cold boiling off the alcohol at 115F and -29.5 " Hg, for the fastest solvent removal and highest carboxylic acid and monoterpene retention. As soon as the random sized solvent bubbles stop, and only a few small fizzy CO2 bubbles are present, we pull it out. Let it cool, air, and it will harden into shatter.
