My AeroGarden grow...

Here is my AeroGarden grow=) i just took some seeds from a friend and planted them in to the system and i got 2 plants out of 4. They both look very healthy and today i accidently broke the 2nd light bulb so its running on 1 with a lamp as well. I will probably let them grow for another 2 weeks before i go in to the flowering stage, i really dont need a big plant just something like 12-15". I also prunned it so it can grow out and not up, i recently cut the top off the big plant. Can i get some pointers? am i on the right track?

no one? i know im new...but im no stranger=)

the longer you veg the taller the plant is going to be. I would replace that bulb asap and start flowering now. it will get two to three times bigger in flower.

and how do i start the flowering stage? by putting it on 12/12 and adding blossom nutrients? i just topped the tank off and added some nutrients.....should i dump the water and clean it out then put it on 12/12? and when should i add the blossom butrients when i start the 12/12?

yes i start out with a light flowering mix when i go to 12/12. Dump out the garden and refill . If you havent yet, buy a figure eight power cord and plug that into a timer and the aerogarden.. The aerogarden doesnt have a 12/12 setting so you have to mod it with the power cord. I bought one from radio shack. it fits perfectly.

well i'll be buying the figure eight power cord and a timer asap, until then ill just let it grow with the new nutirents until i do.

Not my thread .... but I just have to ask. What in the hell is a Figure 8 power cord?

and its of if the plant has 24/0 light right? i have been on 24 and the plant looks great! but since im going to be lowering it down soon to 12/12 should i start a 18/6 light cycle now? until i get my timer and etc...

u remember the playstation 2? its the power cord...when u look at it, it looks like the number 8 with 2 holes on it, you'll know.

i go straight from 24/0 to 12/12 with no ill effect works fine and JP is right if you dont start flowering soon they might not fit in there when all is said and done i start flowering my girls at 7 to 9" and they get to around 24 to 30" by harvest.

well i looked at my plant today and i pruned about 8 leaves off, i know its not a good idea but those leaves wern't getting any light and were dying so thats ok right? i am going to clean the res today and put it on 12/12. and i should cut the running water u say? and just leave it still? i dont really have acces to any airstones or whatnot but thats ok right?

oh and btw should i wait a day before cleaning the res and putting it to 12/12 or should i just do it right away?

i went ahead and cleaned out my res today and added 1/4 of the blooming nutrients. I will let the light stay on until 12am before switching them off and putting them on 12/12. probably buying an air rock too!

theairstone is awesome,it will help get oxygen to the roots. some people like to leave the lights off for 24 hours and then take them to 12/12 . depending on the strain, this will tell the plant okay time to stop vegging and time to start flowering.

its okay to cut the yellow leaves off, they just attract pests anyway (the color yellow does)

i got a timer today and also the figure8 wire...it wasnt a figure 8 but 90% close so i had to file the sharp edges to make it round and it works! i will be leaving the lights off till i wake up tomorrow then and then put it on 12/12. I have a question, about my little plant....if i put it in flowering stage with the big one the small one should flower to am i correct? and the yield will probably be very small huh

Yes, The smaller plant will go into flowering, but make sure that when you add the nutrients that you take into consideration that the smaller plant will be way more sensitive to the nutes. That is an ingenious idea about the "figure eight" wire, I have an aero garden and am pumped that i dont have to manually control the main light anymore. I have seen amazing results by just using the aerogarden without its light and only for the hydroponic system, 15+ grams from 2 125W cfl's! (LowRyder 2's) ..coupling the post by jadeshecky, the best way to ensure the transition is to leave the lights off for atleast 18 hours. and you may notice that the plant continues to grow even while the light is off (stretchy). 24 hours should do the trick, but I trust myself in saying that up to 2 days in the dark is acceptable to the plant, especially in a hydro system that continues to run, its up to you and you will learn better by doing what you think is best. The immediate transition between veg (18/6) and flower stage (12/12) may cause a few days of transition, when the longer period of darkness throws the flowers immediately. Thanks alot! ya i thought i had the figure 8 but i thing the playstation 2 cords are the same as mine....round on one side flat on the other, but ya it works! also should i be putting the aerogarden and constant running water? becuase i dont have a bubbler.

i dont think my aerogarden run on 2 125w bulbs......
