Well if I have it correctly then you only have 1 male (which happens to be from bag seed), so just go ahead and selectively pollinate a couple of good buds close to the top on each strain you have that's female. Do this at about the beginning of the 3rd week of flower for your girls and let them go for 8-9 weeks. Then you'll have plenty of beans to pop and find a good male in to cross with whatever next time. And you'll prob find a few good females along the way too!

Make sure to write everything down too, and dont get your beans mixed up either, like F1's and F2's that would suc

bc, you think i should pollinate top branch? now i am also trying to harvest non-seeded weed. ive heard to pollinate bottom branches, not sure on the reason but i think it was something to do with containing pollen from leeching on to branches below.

sicc, i will definately keep track of all seeds and have a detailed log on what i am trying to achieve.

will pollinating one branch affect other branches?

i know it is a hard estimate but on a large branch fully pollinated how many seeds can i expect?

Excellent advice, I forgot to say that! I marked all my branches that got pollinated with blue painter's tape wrapped around a twistie-tie tied to the branch, and I wrote the cross on it so that when I harvested and hung the branches I would still have the pollinated branches marked. Then I jarred the seeded branches up individually after they dried, putting the piece of tape with the cross written on it inside so I know what it was.

Here's something showing that. I used the tape cause that's what I had on hand.

I would call it "bagseed" because it came from a bag. It's not a seed that you bought from a breeder.. so with that said. Could the seed that you got from that bag come from a hermie?? I bet so.. so it'd be bagseed. since you do not know FOR SURE that it is a quality seed. Could be bunk as fuck.

Nice, i will have to do something like that, how long did it take your males to drop pollen?

Be careful and other than a rogue seed here and there, you'll only have seeds in the branches that you pollinate. How many is hard to tell really because your skills, your genetics, the maturity of both the female and male plants, and myriad other factors come into play in this type of scenario. But, if all goes well, you'll have plenty (like at least 30 - 40) of seeds produced in each bud you pollinate if you use bigger buds (not the top colas or anything, but not spindly bottom buds either) and let them go to full maturation before harvesting.

You prob don't want to pollinate your top colas (unless you're REALLY down for the cause this cycle), but you don't want to pollinate the bottom buds either or it'll take even longer for the seeds to be produced and you'll get less total. If you go with some mid-to-higher-level buds they'll get enough light to properly grow your new genetics for you and they'll mature at the same pace as the rest of the plant so you can harvest everything at once and you're done. It takes about 30-40 days under an HID to produce mature seeds, prob 60-70 days under CFLs or any type of flouro (or a very small HID too I suppose).

It helps to think of the plant in terms of calyxes I think. Think of one big vine or stick with a bunch of calyxes all stuck to it which, as time progresses and they mulitiply, cluster together to become buds. Basically, the only parts of the plant that are going to produce seeds are the calyxes after their pistils have received pollen and have been fertilized. Individual calyxes. You could have one calyx that produces seeds or a thousand. But if they don't get hit with pollen, they'll just grow and be empty i.e., sinsemilla bud. That's why pollinating one branch doesn't affect the other branches, because technically you could pollinate individual calyxes if you wanted, selecting which ever ones you wanted to pollinate, to produce seeds by individually pollinating each calyx.

Prob about 2 weeks into 12/12 to really start throwing dust.

jnuggs, yes it is a bagseed male. he appears to be a quality plant.

now the flowers have to open before pollen is dropped correct? im getting real close to having pollen. i will follow both of your guidelines during this whole process. stick around and i will be posting pictures weekly.

dc beard, looking at your pictures looks like you are growing in 1/2 gal or 1 gal pots? is this a sog type grow? you seem to be getting a high yield with a small pot. i am using 7 gal pots and i think it is overkill. next time i may go with more plants less veg time and smaller pots.

check out this dwc/bubblephonics type im adding to the flower room for a little extra weight. this is my first attempt at hydro. bubba kush clone is straight from clone to 12/12.

DC, I only asked what strain the bagseed was cause some people know what strain they're buying, i'm not retarded.(maybe a little) You could still be called bagseed if you got a seed froma bag that you bought at cannabis club or dealer that knows the name. Or if it was beasters, jack herer, outdoors etc.. If it was outdoor bc's beside hermie it could have been within a couple miles of hemp field too, and have some ruderis to it.? Takes longer on lower branches huh, I must've forgot that, thanks for remindin for future endeavors dc. Aeva, you could also put bag over the pollinated buds, and lighly spray portion that you don't want seeded to try n kill roque pollin and don't forget to turn the fans off. Or if you got a few plants, seed one n spray others because once any part of the plant is seeded, more energy is devoted to producing seeds, less energy but still decent amount devoted to cannabinoid production.

Im sure its cool, were all here to learn, an so is anyone else reading, he's been online, so im sure he would of said something

Alright guys sorry I haven't posted any pictures, I have had mixed thoughts about forums, I feel that I have to be more secure about my post, there are to many different things, that I have posted while being drunk, that could easily expose my identity. For my personally safety, I have taken a moment out of my life, to reconsider my drinking habits while growing this plant that should never have been made illegal. Every aspect of life is surrounded by this so called (illegal plant)

With that noted, I have added 5 new strains to garden. Thanks to Mthemonster

Grape purps (grapefruit x purple kush) F1

Purple skunk ( skunk#1 x purple kush) F1

BC Kush (kush x grapefruit) F1

All from Bcgrown.50g.com

Also Texas Misha which is TRC's mix which I have harvest these beans from the same bag on more then one occasion with great results, maybe my fav

And some uber bag seed that has been going around for the last month, Which has a great taste and thc to back it up..

And I seeded my plants (not all of them) selected few.

So the current crosses I have are

Jack Herer x (Comrade x Blue Apollo)

(Comrade x Blue Apollo) Bx1

Purple Bag seed x (Comrade x Blue Apollo)

And Have (skunk #1 x Haze) Pollen that I am saving for the next run after I see my friends flower out to decided if its worth keeping, but with all the new strains I'm not sure. I think the only way I will be able to keep all of this in my breeding, is to go outdoors. Which I love oh so much..

I will post pics a few days after the harvest after I have time to clean the rooms out, Flower room will be ran one more time before the summer hits. Then everything is going outside except the veg room. until next fall due our southern Heat.

Thanks guys
