Too much nutrient. Gotta go easy with the sativas. Flush. Use plain water for a bit.

That thing is fried. Looks like your buddy doesn't understand plant nutrition. Dumping twice as many nutrients on a plant than it needs does not lead to twice the yield. And in this case it has reduced the yield significantly. That's going to be some nasty smoke.

That's hard to say. I'd keep it going for now but get another started. I've never had anything that bad. I kick myself when I let the leaf tips get burned. If it's a longer flowering sativa it's got time to get better but that plant has been so stressed by overfeeding it will never reach the potential it could have had. I personally wouldn't waste any time with it. But if it's the only game in town then might as well keep playing for now. But your buddy should definitely get another batter up to the plate.
