My current situation

Hey fellow stoners, So i am planning on starting a nice small grow. I have a closet with dimensions of about 2 1/2 feet deep, 5 wide and about 7 feet tall. My plan is to grow 5-8 plants in a soil setup, possibly SoG/SCRoG but i am not to confident with that style of growing. My question is how many and what size lamps should i be using?, and what ventilation those lamps would require. I was thinking 2x 400HPS with a DiY carbon scrubber. I am not too positive on were to go with this and any input would be very appreciated, time to go burn one

def. two 400 HPS, in line fans and dryer vent hoses hooked up to air cooled light tubes,with an intake and exhaust. That wil get ya' going!!!

Cool Tubes/air cooled hoods and some decent fans. 2x400 W sounds perfect for that space. You can get a can fan and connect it to a carbon scrubber and also have it cool both lights at same time.

I USE A CLOSET ALOT ITS FUN.I WOULD USE 1 400 HPS AND 2 4 TO 8 BULB T5s ON EACH SIDE.DEF USE AN AIR COOLED HOOD.BUT THE T5s WORK REALLY GOOD,AND U CAN RUN THOSE 2 FOR ABOUT HALF OF WHAT YOU CAN RUN THAT HPS 4 AND THERE ALMOST JUST AS GOOD.IMO 2 8 BULB T5s ARE BETTER THAN 1 400 WATER.AS FAR AS FANS GOOGLE SUN LEAVES WIND TUNNLE A 4 INCHER OR 6 SHOULD BE PERFECT.AS FOR ODER CONTROL YOU CAN ALSO GET A REALLY CHEAP BUT EFFECTIVE CARBON SCRUBBER FOR 60 TO 150 THATS GONNA WORK WAY BETTER THAN ANY DIY.HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT!

hey guys, was out walking my dog and lighting one up i measured the closet its 2 feet deep, 4 1/2 feet wide and about 9 feet tall ( thats akward lmao) I think i am going the way u guys recommended it makes the most sense, cooling right at the source of heat..... perfect. Fuk iam high. The closet is painted a flat white colour already, should i keep it like this or go with mylar and or the white and black pvc plastic? thanks

LEAVE IT WHITE BUT LINE THE WALLS WITH MYLAR AROUND YOUR PLANTS,PUT IT ABOUT 5 FOOT UP FROM THE BOTTOM ALL THE WAY AROUND,ON THE DOOR AND ALL.DID YOU CHECK OUT SOME T5s?DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE?

T5s, no i dont. To be honest this is my first grow lol. Mylar looks extremely reflective, looks promising too

T5s ARE SOME BADD ASS FLUROS AND THEY WORK REALLY GOOD.AND A GROW ROOM WITHOUT MYLAR WOULD JUS BE NAKED.IT REALLY HELPS.AND IF YOU PUT UP 2 T5 FIXTURES AND A HPS IN THE MIDDLE IT WILL KICK ASS.ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS ROTATE THE PLANTS A LITTLE HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK

wicked, i am so stoked on this grow. I think i am going to do s SoG my first grow to harvest quickly then i am going to just grow some monster mothers are T5's the long tube lights found in most large buildings?

No they are tube lights but there pretty small nothing like whats in office buildings or stuff lik that.there pretty small in diameter also.there really close together and dont get real hot

I NEVER SAID JUST USE THE FLUROS AND YES THERES PROVEN YIELDS WITH HPS OVER THEM.I SAID USE 2 6 TO 8 BULB T5s WITH A HPS IN THE MIDDLE. IT WILL BE A LOT BETTER LOT COOLER AND A LOT CHEAPER.AND AS FAR AS AMAZING YIELDS ITS NOT THAT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE EXSPECIALY WHEN REPLACING 1 HPS WITH 2 T5s.NODRAMA IF YOU WOULD HAVE READ ALL THE POST THATS WHAT IT SAYS.I ALWAYS USE MY HPS ALONG WITH T5s PROVEN TO BE BETTER IN A SMALL CLOSET.

stick with the hps its better make sure you buy ml also though. 1 for each cycle. and it seems like a small space so if ya need to save money you can stick with 1 400w or move up to 600w
