75 ambient is ideal. Res temps can be up to about 74-75 without too much problem. On the frozen water thing. I've been on a couple of other sites today and that was the topic of conversation. The concensus is that frozen anything directly in the res can stun the roots a little and is best avoided. It helps to increase the airflow around the res and if you are going to use anything frozen it's better to put it up against the res. Someone had a good idea of using frozen peas or something like that butted up to the res. I use cannazyme and that helps avert any root problems from a high res temp. Convert the dead roots back to nutes.

like the water will strill be in the bottle im not dumping it in jus gonna let it floatr around till not frozen then put new one in, i believe i still rememebr my high school physics and with the bubbles and the pump recirculating the water the properties of a liquid will dispese the temp to and eventemperture till the ice in the bottle is gone

yeah man the res is under my tubes no way any root get to it at all its a good 1.5 feet away and not in straight path here look at first sets of picts the res is in front on the floor in the 2x4 box its foil tape wraped and now it has lid on it the pipes deliver the water way up and around a turn so no way roots gonna hit my frozen water bottle, like this sprays the water for i minute out of sprays under the cups every 5 minutes, in an ebb and flow i could see what your talking about not in this system

So the water will get cooled how? Do you cool the pipes? Obviously I don't understand NFT but I'm willing to learn.

Today i actually placed the seedlings in the posts. the pumps are running 1 min on 4 off, lol and it jus went on, i love this as i was a soil grower til now. with he research i did i am a firm believer in aerating your res, i have 4 6 inch airstones in bottom run by two wally world air pumps. so far so good, i added very minute amount of fox farm big bloom to res also, its holding 25 gal and i added 150ml, should add a little benefit, i also am using tap water thats sat out for 48 hours, the reasoning behind this is my tap has plenty of macro and micro nutes in it, and at this stage from what ive read its actually benficial to young seedlings, we getting a ro machine tho for veg and flower. here are more pict from today, when i get lid cut and installed i will show, im making some biscuits and gravy right meow tho so itll be a while :) im so fucken hungary
Funny, I am just about to build the same system. Almost identical, to the 5 inch posts, 3 inch net pots and even the plant count. I'll be following behind trying to learn, hopefully from success not mistakes. I've got about 40 clones right now with 8 inch roots waiting to go to their home.

Do the air pumps and stones help with this type of set up? I don't know much about them and the only people I read about using them is DWC folks. Will the oxygen stay in the water after going through the spray jets?

Good luck to you. I'm subscribed.

He's got those and I have a couple I'm using but with ebb and flow. They don't have PVC fences in the U. K.?
they do have pvc fence posts, they have fucking strengthening beams inside so it makes the post unusable for aqua or nft, im fucking raging bull about it.
there must be someone who sells the open type square post and end caps somewhere in the uk. HELP. or i will smoke some dank shit and go out and kick holes in everybodies wooden pannel fences for the next 2 miles from where i live.LOL.

ok put a rubbermaid on floor. put pump in the rubbermaid and run a pvc pipe to a fence post that has holes cut(by you) and is capped on one end. Also the capped end should be on and angle t drain. the pump that is in res pumps water up that pipe and down the inside of the posts. the pipe is capped at the end and i drilled out the pipe in order to place 360 sprayers, when the pump runs it shoots water through wetting the plants.

average time to freeze water in my freezer = for freakin ever like wtf its been close to 3 hours i think this is ridiculous my res temp is steady at 75 degrees and im not pleased im sure it will lower as soon as i put the bottles with ice in it but it be nice to have it now, my plants onlyh been in it for 7 hours or so but still i want top hammer this out now rather then later

well im not actually sure but you need the bubbles help keep down algae growth and i suppose help mix my solution, thinking about it i do not believe o2 would reach the roots though the water after the sprayers maybe the concept of the sprays would break up the bubble as it passed threw the srpayer release the gas into the inner post

ya so i let my room temp climb too high by not properly ventilating in time and my freezer seems to be on some kind of shifty shyt cuz its not really frezzing my water bottles quickly so i am doing and emergency res change, when i bought all my submersible pumps i bought 1 extra smaller model only 19.95, i went to home depot and got twenty ft of hose and i use it to drain directly to a sink quick easy, i make my cousin stand and hold the hose so it stays in and its all good

Sounds good. Seems I need to learn how to fit PVC again. I did it 20-30 years ago. I wonder if I'll remember! LOL!

The bubbles in the water are def transfered to the plant through the sprayers. O2 molecules are small. Just because you don't see a bubble doesn't mean they aren't there. Think of your kitchen faucet. That little sceen filter on the end is called an aireator.

woke up this morning and temps all out of whack, i believe the water been running at about 74 degrees way too high, the water bottles i froze over night seem to be a waste of time, like i said i believe im going to bring in big guns and bring in the portable a/c unit
