My dried buds smell like hay/grass?

Right, I seem to have an issue thats common with new growers, and thats my weed smelling like hay or grass after its dry. During the first 3 days of drying, the buds still had a nice earthy skunky smell. On the last day of drying (about day 5 or 6) the smell had gone or changed to grassy. And like other people say, it still smells nice when you squeeze or break the bud, but no one has a definitive answer? Started curing 4 days ago....still the same hayish smell......
Anyone shed any light on this situation? Thanks.

some times it takes a while, maybe week or so to get that smell going. plus, you have to KEEP THE JAR CLOSED !! i know its hard to do, but it what u have to do.

Cheers mate. I did open the jar twice a day for 10 mins. So once a day for 5 mins sound any better?

The smell comes from the leftover chlorophyll breaking down. So just keep doing what you are and the good smell should return after about a week or so.

Yes that's from harvesting too early and the buds are too leafy and airy giving you the bad hay smell.

Not trying to call you out on this Buds how would you know given then info he had if he pulled early. Regardless that shitty smell sometimes in the first few days of cure is the leftover chyrophyll still breaking. Even if you did crop early right?

I think my harvest was good timing, say 80% cloudy 20% amber trichomes, nice dence buds and did a good trim. Just guna keep at it with the curing....(and burping). Cheers guys. Stay high! :bigjoint:

if the temperature in the flowering room was over 80 degrees like close to 90 some strains smells like grass when its dry but in the curing process the smell will come back
and its wrong to open the jar twice a day and 5 mins each time
open the jar once a day for 30 mins and try to rotate the buds inside the jar at least twice a week till the skunky smell comes back
