My First Breeding. Auto Flower, Feminixzed and Crossing

this is a project i been planning for over a year now and i finally got round to starting it gonna put it up here to help remind myself so might ramble on a bit. anyone is welcome to chime in if you have any suggestions

i am using lowlifes white russian (reg) to get myself a female to spray with colloidal silver once i have pollen from that i will pollinate

the remaining white russian females
3 x pakistan ryder (world of seeds) feminzed
1 x g13 nl feminized auto

because i have to treat the female and give it time to change sex i have just planted 3/10 of the white russian seeds

in 2 weeks once they have shown sex i will remove males then plant the remaining seeds

about 1- 1 1/2 weeks later i will spray the first female with silver solution creating male flowers and pollinating everything

the medium im growing in is coco with the full canna range
the plants will be under a 250w cfl for first 4 weeks then moved under 600w growlux hps

end result should be a shit ton of feminized autoflowering

Sounds great. This is the first grow for me. The plan is to breed an Afghan male with a platinum kush female. It will be called Kabul Kush.

autoflower is not dominant to my knowledge, that means you got to select the autoflower in from a F2 cross

right time to check back in things are on their way although i have had a couple of school boy errors

planted the 3 seeds had a heater on in the cupboard they were in roots showed within a day i turned on light rdy for them to sprout but the combination of heater and light cooked the soil and killed the seeds
i also bought a cheap arse propagator and sowed straight into coco but i didnt plan on the transplanting bit and the roots showed very quiclkly out of the bottom so had to move them early. needed to cut the the seedlings out of the tray and one of the soil clumps broke up slightly on transplanting however the plants have already perked back up so i dont think theres any harm done. going to use peat pots as inlay for remaining seeds to stop that problem

broke soil on the 14th of march
transplanted on 19th

day 3 or 4(cant remember) growing well although stalks already having trouble holding leaf growth up

pics of roots first one had some root die off out of bottom of container and is slightly smaller than other 2 but im not too worried

hopefully they will be showing sex with a week or so i need to get some silver ordered rdy

@thcnoob i hope not as i'm not able to offer grow time up for doing f2 im only doing one seed run. but from everything i have read if both parents are auto flowers then the off spring would be auto's too i guess i'll have to wait and see

day 8 and one of them looks like their threatening to show

right its more than time for me to check in here again things have moved on somewhat now

day 15
first plant shows sex (its a girl (my heart sank knowing autoflower girls show up later than males))

day 16
second plant shows sex ?(its a girl)

day 19
last plant shows sex was one with slight root die off ( tis a girly too)

now 3 girls wasnt what i was expecting and this might cause some trouble later with timing of seeds

also all 3 plants have gotten far too rootbound to be left in the pots (i had hoped to squeese them into 7" 3.5 litre pots due to size restraints) but as all 3 are girls i cannot "up pot" as 8" pots wont fit into my room in numbers needed
that left me with only sensible option i could think of cut the bottom off pots and put ontop other 7inch pots

day 20
made my first batch of coloidal silver today.
i got a 1 gram silver bar from ebay (dinky little thing) i hit that bar with a hammer to flatten it out and make it bigger i then used some snips to cut it in half and soldiered it to some old speaker wire
i connected that up to an adjustable12dc powers upply and set it to 6v
now i couldnt find deionized/ distilled water in local shop so used water from my tap

the result was pretty comical the moment i switched on power supply a grey mist started falling from one of pieces of silver and within 5 mins the water had a slight yellow ting to it
now i realise that its the impurities in the water that caused it to happen but seeing as i got a yellow ting i decided to try it anyway

im using the plant that showed sex second as my pollen barer its a very similar size to the one that showed sex first but it didnt show signs of slight rootburn (from being rootbound) that the first one did

i used an old eye dropper to apply the solution to the lowest very first branches but due to water tension it beaded up and rolled off leaves so i added a tiny amount of washing up liquid meaning i could drench the leaves and the solution stayed there

once i had done that i planted last of my autoflower seeds
4x white russian (regular)
3 x pakistan ryder (fem)
1 x g13labs NL auto (fem)

day 21

applied dodgy solution to lower branches again

day 22 (today)

used same solution this morning on branches

went to (not so local) hardware shop and bought myself some deionized water now thats been running at 6v for last 30 mins and no sign of clouds of silver yet will use this batch when rdy in morning


thats about it i think things are progressing fairly well now its just a case of waiting to see how many of the white russians i got left will turn out to be girls and hoping that i get pollen sacks to form in time to pollenate my girls before its too late...

sidenote i'm starting to hate rollitup this is third time i wrote this and between rollitup going down and its crappy picture uploader i lost the previous ones so will put up pics in next post so this one isnt lost

Nice man, gonna start a Diesel ryder auto grow so hopefully i can get 2 plants a week... will definetly keep and eye out on yours

Well, that plan failed because the platinum seeds were too old and did not germinate. NEW PLAN in affect: The Afghan male produced lots of pollen, which i collected today. I then took two flowering females of unknown strains and isolated a single lower branch from each plant by tying them down to the sides of the pot. With a cotton swab, I spread the pollen on the flowers of both tied down branches. This will prevent the rest of the flowers from becoming pollinated. The plants I chose: One has purple leaves at all of the budsites and the other has a generic look to it. Both plants are on day 30 of flowering and still show no signs of trichome ambering. Another 30 days should produce seeds.

right this grow has had a few problems due to bone idleness from myself so i been a right lazy bugger here

if my maths is right im somewhere in the 9th week and finally success...

first off the seeds
i planted
4 white russian
3 pakistan ryder
1 g13 nl auto

did quite a good hack job on seeds again

white russian
1 sprouted taproot = dead
1 sprouted but had seed still on = killed it trying to remove seed
1 sprouted but was albino (no chlorophyll) didn't grow dead
now i was down to my last regular white russian seed here after i had staggered grow just for purpose of getting a late female...
i shat myself thinking i would get male i even looked to buy more seeds yet they had sold out
joy of joys it turned out to be female too
6/10 popped 4/4 female
pakistan ryders
1 died
2 grew
g13 nl auto dead in the soil didnt do anything

anyway enough about them they've been growing nicely all flowering and pretty much rdy to be pollinated

back to my original 3 they stretched a fair bit in the box i had them in and i really really should have had them in under the 600w about 2 weeks before i did

right first i will show you my tranny

right now i gave up on the silver about a week or so ago i was treating just the bottom branches every day or so but bud after bud formed with no balls these ones have formed right at the bottom at the stem
i think next time it might work better if i had cloned the branches and seperated them from planet before drenching (might not had to wait so long)

while things have worked out well in the end (touch wood) i have have 3 plants that are a week or so away from harvest not only that but i grew them tall and would have been doing a staggered harvest anyway

i now have a couple of choices

chop the very nearly done top buds off to get more light to lower buds hoping for 2 small harvests from top of plant leaving the bottom buds on for seed production (between about 3or4 onces first harvest then maybe another 3 second)

wait till the pollen sacs open then harvest the (now done top buds) and an amount of smaller buds (less yield i think but slightly better bud)

eitherway the balls done the bottom are getting very little light so im gonna need to open it up at somepoint

can anyone say how long i got before they might pop?

and what would you do chop now or wait a week or so till balls popped? i head scissors in had a couple of times tonigh
