They are really coming along nicely man! The trichomes are the crystals, not the hairs. You can get a good look at them with a 20x microscope, magnifying glass, or jewler's loupe. Here is a link to what I use:
20 Microscope Magnifier. I only use the microscope magnifier, but for 6 bucks you get the two jeweler's loupes also. However, the 30x jeweler's loupe is not much better than the 10x. Here is another link that you should check out:
SE Mini Pocket Microscope 60x -100x. RadioShack also has one that is a little more expensive. The pocket microscopes work great, but it's hard to adjust while looking at the plant, so you have to cut off a small piece and look at it while sitting at a desk or something. I honestly don't know exactly how much time you have left, but it looks to me like they have about 2 weeks. Maybe more, maybe less. The trichomes will turn cloudy, then amber. You want to harvest when most are cloudy and a few are amber. You should start flushing 4-10 days before harvest, so when you think there is about 1 week left, start the flush.
