@brettsog is the base on the alpine 64 pro big enough to accommodate the cxb3590? or are u going with cxb3070?

The alpine 64 PLUS offers a flat base plate for a little more flexibility, may be worth considering.

They look better. I will go with cxb3590 as they are more efficient. I'm gonna a spend quite a bit on this light so may as well get best for my money.

Minor Update:

  • So most of the stuff is here. The driver and power inlet for the driver will be here tomorrow. Here's a pic of, assorted stuff...I also have a heat gun for the heat shrink tube.

  • I'm going to take some of the many extra spade terminals and replace the ends of the PC fan wire. And here's a pic of the fan label for anyone who cares.

  • I changed the location of the fan guard. Which way do you guys think looks better? I like the guard on top the cover.

If the UPS tracking is correct, I'll get the rest of the parts I need tomorrow. Then I can get the last dimensions I need, to make the 3rd cover on Wednesday. When I have the 3rd cover made I'll have the guy make me some custom aluminum angle with mounting holes for the heatsinks. So, maybe by the end of this week and definitely by the end of the weekend, look for some major updates.

I don't know what that is. I have seen posts by you with that word "Arduino" in it. But I never read into it. But the key words I'm getting from what you just said is "wireless dimming" That sounds cool.

What is better with arduino?
What is the difference between use a pot and an arduino? Only wireless dimming...means you need a remote control to dim? It must be much more expensive than a pot!
Have a great day ★

Just powered up one of the fans that will cool the heatsink. It runs soooo quiet. Which is good because right now my intake & exhaust fans are louder than I want them to be. The holes in which they are mounted were cut 3/8" bigger than I wanted. I forgot to account for the bit size. FYI, the sides and doors of my grow cab were cut out on a big CNC router. When I made up the CAD drawings for those I didn't realize which side of the line the machine was going to cut. Because of the larger hole, the fans aren't mounted the way they were meant to be. And I think this is the cause of some unwanted noisy vibrations.

I've got all the dimensions I need for the last cover. So hopefully the sheet metal guy at work isn't to busy tomorrow.

Small little micro-controller, that is open source and can control just about anything electronic....In this case PWM, which is how the dimming circuit can work in your driver.....

In my best dream, the arduino is a cheap way to basically build "smart" components and monitor / tweak them....I own the Arduino Uno and the Micro...both fun to play around with.....

Not better just different, Jacob.
Pots are simple effective and near indestructable in normal usage situations.

More expensive than a pot for sure, but basically the Arduino is a brain for a smart components, so yes, it probably runs a little more pricier than a 100k pot....:)
