My first DWC grow. How am I doing??

Im on my first grow i went for soil too , but its expensive replacing the shit repotting etc i wanna try some form of water n roots growing but have jack all equipment atm just waiting for my first lot to finish flower 
, im not actually all that clear with dwc , its like hydro but floating to get o2 to the roots right ?

I know there are some expensive meters out there, but there are some cheaper ones that work as well. If nothing else, take $20 and invest in a good old fashioned PH paper kit. PH down in the small bottles will run you like $4 at a pet store. PH is crucial in DWC. Too high or too low and the plant cant absorb the nutrients it needs to thrive 
PPM meters are relatively cheap as well. I think for both of my digital meters I paid $40 or so. Amazon or ebay saves lives

ph is very important,you should use one,unless your nutes are ph stabilized
they are not that expensive
i got a digital ph & tds meter for less than 30 $
the cheapest ph tester would be the paper strips,then the liquid solution
i suggest you get 1

Faller200...love your philosophy and the photos. I also believe, keeping it simple is key. Everyone says I need ph meters...and dehumidifiers....and carbon filter extractor stuff...etc. shut up and smoke, is what I usually say, and befog you know it, they ask for my help in getting them set-up...lol

Don't get me wrong here. I do have an idea where my ph is. I had a buddy of mine check it and adjusted the nutes to be in the ball park and that is what I have gone with. Now to stop things from getting out of hand in either direction I top off my buckets every day. I alternate topping off with nutes one day and just water the next. This helps to keep things somewhere in the center of the range. Think what you want but it seems to work for me. Let me add that you have to watch your plants They will tell you when something is wrong.
