My first ever grow.. White Widow Ebb and Flow with air stone

here is my set up. I've started building a small veg area underneath my main grow room. For clones etc.

I think my small weird plant has nut burn. My fault for adding nuts to strong to early.

My plants lower leaves have brown patches on them. I think I might have had to much nuts. Was at 1.6 on the EC when I checked today. Weakened it to 1.2 hopefull that will do. Otherwise I'll try plain water for a few days. I'll post pics later.

Well, in the last pics they look great and healthy!! Right on......

Hey man, it looks good so far. I thought I'd chime in with a couple of things, first don't worry to much about mylar. You said its painted flat white right? Thats fine.

Next make sure you rockwool isn't getting wet when you flood, I know your having issues getting it to flood right but I would put a digital timer with 1 minute increments at the top of your list. The water level needs to be 1/2 an inch below your rockwool. You want the roots to seek out the pebbles.

Once you get a timer you can flood once every three hours during lights on.

Your current lights will do just fine for veg, but I would seriously consider getting a HPS for flowering. They dont really cost much more to run than a bunch of CFL's. You won't be disappointed with the results and you can run a thermostat connect to your exhaust fan to control temps.

To combat the smell you can run a carbon filter, there are several DIY filters on here, use the search function to find them. Don't stress to much you're doing well and try not to kill them with kindness

Growinman I got the WW seed in the city center in a "head stop".
Not sure if you know what a "head Shop" is so I'll try to explain.
Basically theses shops have popped up all over Ireland selling, bongs, papers, grinders, etc. But resently they realized loop holes in the law. So they sell these "legal highs" that weed substitute that give you head aches (well they give them to me).
God i drag out answers...anyway they sell seeds too. Dutch passion feminized WW. 70euro for ten.

HPS yeah this was on the cards orginally. But I'm so concerned about fire. I'm probably mad, paranoid really I smoke to much black hash!
Also to be honest with you I don't really want a big yield. I worried that if I get too much of a yield and get caught more likely to spend some time in a cell. Small amout I can prove is for personal use normally a fine, which I can deal with.
Just a couple of weeks ago in Ireland a guy was caught with 5 plants, hydro gear, and 6oz and got 2 years. 2 years.
A few months before that a guy with 3oz and 3 plants with lights got 1000euro fine.

Enough of the negative..law bollox...lol

So i think I'll use the 150watt blue Envirolite for Veg, and add the 150 red as well for flowering. I'll see how that grow gets on. If its a bad harvest (not enough to last me 2 months 2-3oz???) I'll go HPS second time round.

I'm planning on taking clones and flowering them as soon as the mums are harvested.
Clone the clones and keep a cycle going.

My aim is about 2-3oz every 8 or 9 weeks.
Do you think thats a realistic target?



I was checking out bathroom extractors today. Strange enough actually for my bathroom. The shower steams the place up and shite is starting to gather on the ceiling.
At the same time I thought one of these yolks will work fine to make a homemade carbon filter. So thats my next mission.

Thanks mate. Just did that. My res is just Ph 5.8 now. No nutrients added at all. Going to leave it for a day or two without and see what happens.

Decided to try and hook up a second 150wat Red spec light a while ago. And thick fuck me breaks my 150watt Envirolite while taking it out. I'm sooo pissed off now.

So this is what I've done.

I put the red envirolite in, changed my 18/6 to 12/12.
Took the smallest of my 3 plants and put that down in my small clone and veg area. I'm going to leave this plant here for a while to veg a little longer. Its not doing well at all.
To be quiet honest, today has been a complete bollox of a day. Everything that could go wrong went wrong.

Hopefully things will look up in the next few days.

dont get down man....its ur first grow...u started off fukkin beautiful i jut think u hit them a little hard with the nutes a little soon....hopefully they'll perk up now that u flushed them out nd start with 1/4 strenght once they're all better

Don't have much time to post today. So I'll try and be quick (I've work in about 20mins)

Anyway I'm happier than I was the other day. I cut the lower branches off my biggest plant. There wa just no way back for them.
My water is around 5.6. to 5.8 EC is 0.5. Found my tap water is .04 EC without nuts. So High mineral content in it already.
I put them under the red 150watt light on 12/12 two days ago.

So I took a few pics. I think today is either day 19 or 20. I've an SD card in the pics to give an idea of size. about 6inches wide 6-7 wide.


My third plant the tiny one I have under 2 42 watt cfls in a bubblesystem this is just about staying alive. So I'll just leave it be for now and see how it gets on.

Looking great in there Rock1977!! That new growth is really looking healthy!

Ya I quiet happy now. The dead leaves at the bottom have gone sort of rubbery now. And more yellow. I'm really worried about that though. The rest of the plant seems fine with lots of new growth everyday.

In the end its a learning experience. Hopefully in a few weeks they show signs of being females. They are feminised, but that not 100%. Lets hope they don't run hermie on me.

The next time I grow I'm going to veg for a lot longer than I did this time.
But I was looking at BUDS FOR LESS and they seemed to be alright flowering after 16 days. So we'll wait and see!

the dried out///yellow leaves can be clipped or pulled off if you want....its kinda pointless to leave them on their..the plant is using more energy to try to save those leaves instead of putting all its energy into growing.....

yea every day is a learning experience....i've payed more attention to this site than i did in all my years in school....and im absolutely lovin it =)....cant wait for the next update brotha....

I'll clip those leaves tomorrow. When the lights come back on. 4am here now...just having a smoke watching a movie called WEED. The 95 cannabis cup.lol Waiting for lost to download.

Nooo, the plant isn't wasting energy trying to save leaves, it will suck all the goodness out of them to help grow new leaves.
It's always best to let the plant decide, so leave the leaves alone until they fall off.
