Holy Crap, My Plants Shrunk!

In all seriousness i feel for the RUI crew, I've been known to run a server or 50 and I know what its like to deal with funkin punks.

Anyway my plants are looking pretty good! gnats still runnin round even with the Cinnamon, but we are taking a ride to the grow shop to get some supplies for a friend and I am going to pick up a pesticide. The plants average between 6 and 7 inches right now, minus some stragglers. Since i can't let em get over 21-22 inches i am going to flop em over to 12/12 on Sunday. I started messing with the time last night. They used to go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 4am. Last night they went to sleep at 9pm and woke up at 5am. Tonight, 8pm to 6am, Saturday night 7pm to 7am Sunday will be their first day of 12/12 at about 7 weeks from paper towel. Last night i also put 11 more Bag seeds in a paper towel. By Sunday they will likely go into some happy frog in grow plugs. Once they are root-bound there i will put them in 2 liters. This all means I have to get my ass moving on getting my veg box!!!!

Dang, sorry to hear that the cinnamon didn't work, it's solved a lot of people's issues with gnats so I'm not sure why it didn't work. Can't wait to see some updated pics of the little ladies. :)

Hey everyone!

So just checked on the planties and things are looking okay. I have been in the middle of a flurry of activity lately so I have not been playing with them as much as i like. The combo of cinnamon, aphid traps and not watering till the plants are almost dead seems to have eliminated most of the gnats.

Almost 1 week into 12/12, no sex organs yet? Think I have a light leek?

Today they got thier first dose of TigerBloom, 2 tsp to 1 gallon plus 1 tablespoon of Big Bloom for more micro neuts. I will see if I can get a good set of pics a little later once they dont look like they are dieing from dehydration.

It took me almost all of 2 weeks to see signs of sex on both of my plants. Only time wil tell.
Good to hear that the gnats are gone, hope they get nice and big in 12/12.
Show us some pics.

what everyone else said, also im not sure how small these plants are still but can take up to 4 weeks to show signs of sex when they arent sexually matured, the 12/12 will give you signs at the earliest point but the plant will not show anything untill it is ready. i like to just vegg and wait for pre flowers to show then flip.

another thing i noticed is you seem to be jumping right into nutrients, biggest mistake new growers make. that MG soil your using has enough for probally 8 weeks of growth in it already so dont even bother with nutrients for a while or you may kill them.

follow the KISS rule (Keep It Simple Stupid) and you will be alright, water when the pots are nice and light when you pick them up and back off on the nutes untill them plants get a bit bigger, they will tell you when they are hungry but with that MG soil you release nutrients with every watering so if your watering in nutrints and releasing nutrients when you water you really have no idea how much food your giving them and the potential for burn is there. next grow go with a pro mix soiless mix and you can start 1/4 strenth nutrients at 1 week if you want to controll how much food your plants are getting.

good luck man some rep for ya getting your feet wet in the marijuanna growing hobby.

oh and this is one hobby you will probally not leave as quickly as some others you have tried and given up, its extremely addictive and you will find yourself spending more money and within a couple years having some serious crops coming out,

Nicely put retied....I am also a fan of the KISS method. And growing is now my favorite hobby....and it will be for a long, long, time ;)
Glad things are still going good for ya....stupid gnats :(
Seems like you've got it all under control ;)

Hey everyone!

Everything is going very well. I am sorry I haven't gotten any pictures, on 12/12 and my work schedule I only have a 2 hour window to look at and feed my plants if necessary. I promise I will get at least a family shot going for you tomorrow.

As to the neuts, i maintain that i am following about 1/4 to 1/2 of fox farms schedule and there has been no sign of burn, so I think its a good ratio.

Now for the real news. As far as I can tell so far we have a 6/5 split. 6 females and 5 males!!!! Yay for averages working on my side for once!

hehe.. we will see, some of those females could be males or hermies or who knows. Some of what i think are males could be females! only time like you folks said, but I am a happy boy. 6 females is EXACTLY what I wanted.

for those of you whos threads i have gone silent on, I am sorry. I spent 2 weeks looking for a new gig and found one that started this week. Its makin me get up at 5am so I can take my dog for a walk and still get a shower and in to work on time. Even the dog doesnt want to go out at 5am....

Hey everyone,

We are at about 3 weeks since the seeds were put in the paper towel. So although things do not seem to be looking great, they do seem to be looking better since nearly drowning, cooking, then starving everyone. Since holding off watering for a few days, then giving them a drink with 1.5ml of big bloom + 1.5 ml of Epsom salt they are looking better, though they still droop. I think there may be a pH issue, but I have no idea. I am either going to water them tomorrow or Tuesday morning. When I do I will check the water pH going in and out and post my results. In the mean time here are the pics:

Pics 4, 5 and 6 are of plant 1b, who's leaves are growing in weird and twisted. Please let me know what you think and if you see any issues!

Thanks everyone who is reading and helping!

okay so finally a proper update. Friday they got some more food, 1tbsp of big bloom (micronute) and 1 tsp of tigerbloom. I was going to give the proper 2 tsp of tigerbloom, but you all got me paranoid now about food! They are looking good, so this morning i did a little pruning. I took off every side branch node below the 3rd or 4th nodes and kept only the fan leaves that were still getting light. I have also named them all, and so it is my great pleasure to introduce....

So, they look okay in these pics, but its about 2 minutes after they were cut. Tomorrow is water day, if they need it which given how light the pots were i am going to assume they will. I am nervous to see what they are going to look like tomorrow.

It has been 2 weeks since they went 12/12, but i am calling this 1 week of flower since they really just started showing sex.

Thanks Steve and Cali! I just checked in on them and they are looking happy, even a little bit of new growth despite the choppin i did yesterday. Pots were light so I gave them a drink of water. They have been handling the 1/2 strength neuts well so I think they will get the same 1tbsp big bloom, 2tsp Tigerbloom next watering.

Fiona is a nice little lady for sure. She is named after the character from Burn Notice :)

So i picked up 3 little lamps at the big K. Got 1 with a 63 watt 2700 in the middle, and 1 with 2 23watt 6500's on each side for side lighting. Total adds aver 150 watts! can't belive how much it actually lights up the lower bud sites.

Adding light to the lower area does make a difference. My grow looks like a mechanical octopus with all the light extensions i have coming down lol
