My first grow! (CFLs) PICTURES INSIDE

Hey everybody! I am new here, I just registered today and I wanted to share my first grow with everyone I am about 4 weeks into it I will post pictures and I would like to get some feedback!

I am currently using

4x40 watt CFLs (Each outputting 2720 lumens) = 10,880 Lumens
1x23 watt CFL (outputting 1564 lumens)
1 Big 3 speed fan (that I leave on medium for a good amount of circulation)

All together according to that I should have about 12,000 lumens in my grow room.

I am only growing one plant and I have a pretty small grow space . I also have a homemade reflector that I made out of cardboard and aluminum foil. I keep the temperature in the room around 70 degrees as well.

The plant is from a bag of chronic I got, I bought a half oz for 180 bucks and found one seed in the whole thing. I let my friend have the seed and he grew it outside but when i look at it the plant looked like it wasn't doingg very well (was going to die soon or not grow how it should) as you can see in this picture.



So I saved the little guy (or girl I hope) and transplanted it into a larger pot with 1/3 miracle grow soil and the other 2/3 being normal soil I found in my Mom's shed at home. This is what it looked like one day after at this time I only had two CFL's (23 watt and 40 watt)



I have not used any nutrients so far and the plants were on a 24 hour light cycle, and now because of my space limitation I put them into flowering about 3 days ago! I am going to top the plant soon so it doesn't grow too high, and here are pictures that are more recent, please let me know how I am doing! Should I put the plant back into veg? was it too early?

Where did you get those bulb clamps that attatch to the rim of the pot?

and I bought the clamps at lowes they were $9.99 each and they come wit the socket for the light in it, all you gotta do is just screw in the bulb and plug it in!

**EDIT** I was also wondering if anyone knows if this is a sativa or indica? Can you tell at this point? Also they have been on 12/12 lighting for about 3 days now, was that too early? And one more thing, can you tellif this plant is a male or a female yet?

hey sry to bump but could someone answer if I should put it on 18/6 and let it keep vegging? dont mean to keep asking but I would like to do it at tomorrows lighting if I can!

thx guys I'll have more pictures later after I had the lights on all day! I'm noticing a lot of little extra hairs or maybe they are tiny tiny tiny leaves that I just can't tell the difference! it's about day 4 or so of flowering so do you it's showing pistils?

sad day today I looked at my plant when I got home and the stems coming out from the main branches are all turning a purplish color they are also starting to face more towards the ground... the main stem remains really thin I feel like its not growing right for some reason.



any advice?

dude that sucks, I think it's some kind of deficiency. as for the flowering, the plant usually will get twice the size than they are so it really depends on how big you want it. I would get some more started in small pots just in case..

you should probably get rid of that foil, as shiny as it looks, it doesn't reflect as much light as you would think, flat white paint, panda film, or mylar are much more reflective materials...the folds in the aluminum foil can also cause hotspots and burn your plant...kind of like how you would hold a magnifying glass to the sun and burn little ants as a child...BTW...how often do you water??? are you using any nutrients???

thanks, and no man no nutrients yet i water it every 2 days and the inside of my closet is painted white so think that will work better? I did happen to find nutrients in my moms shed that were like 23-2-2 I dunno if those would do any good....

4 weeks right??? you should probably start on some nutes...those nutes sound ok for vegging, you could use it now...but only give 1/4 of the recommended dosage...you should probably invest in some flowering nutes soon, as you have already flipped the switch...something with more P K than N (i.e. 10-20-20) or something along those lines...

Oh and red/purple stems are signs of either potassium def. or magnesium def., I believe?

ok im gonna give them a half cup of water and mix 1/4 of that shit in there hopefully the colors go away soon...
