I think that New Years Eve will be my perpetual garden's official Day 0. Beth will go into the dark room for 48 to 72 hours (if I havent put her into darkness before then) and chronic haze #8 will go into flower transition for 15/12. The CH#8 is about 7" tall now, so she will hopefully be close to 10" by that time. She will be getting week 2 nutes at 75% today along with her sisters. It will also be my first time using Hygrozyme.
Beth still has a fair number of white hairs but they have started receding quickly. I have found they recede a lot in the last 48 to 72 hours of darkness they get. I checked her with the scope and saw a few ambers so it is time, imo. She is mostly sativa so maybe I should move her into dark before the 31st. The other last female (Cassie) in the flower box will probably not get harvested until a week or so later. The hairs on the larger colas have not started to recede much yet so hopefully she will swell some more.
Both of the last 2 bagseed plants in flower have a definite potassium deficiency. I think it was caused by a couple of things that I hope to correct with my new feeding schedule. I did not flush these plants until the very end, and didnt give them enough plain waterings either. I would typically give them nutes, and then next time give them BioMarine, BlackDiamond, and Botanicare Sweet. They only got bat guano once.
This time I plan to mix the BioMarine and BlackDiamond in with the nutes along with Hygrozyme and use plain water the next time. The Sweet was a sample and I think I am going to stop using it. I am going to try bat guano top dressing again at Day and Day 30 of flower and increase the dose. I also read about 'making it rain' but that doesn't sound like much fun with my fabric smart pots.
January 1st will be Day 1 of 12/12 and by Jan 30th I should have 3 more CH clones moved in to keep her company. The other 6 left in veg at that point will likely be, or soon be, topped/cloned and/or trained. The first few will not be topped, but the later ones will have to be so I can keep the height under control in the veg box as well as flower. I am not sure what to expect, but I am guessing there will be a dramatic stretch in the un-topped plants as it is a 60/40 sativa/indica from my research.
Harvest updates, because I went and bought some scales today.
Donna/Donald:
She was my 2 headed mutant. I noticed about halfway thru flower she had this funny shaped thing on the top of one cola, but I wasnt sure what it was. I know, now.
I found 3 seeds so far from the 3 to 5 grams of it that has been sampled. She has been in jars for about 4 days now and has a funky/skunk smell. It is still harsh being it is uncured but it is very potent. The 2 main tops weigh 6 to 8 grams each. It weighed in today at 32.8 grams after trimming off most of the remaining stems.
Elaine:
She was the runt of the motley crew. She was short, leaning, and didn't take well to her FIM'ing when she was a baby. She grew up to look a bit like a fan and smell like a diesel garage. She was crispy and crumbly after hanging for only 72 hours but the stems were still bendy, so I put the buds into paperbags last night. This morning the stems cracked but didnt quite break so they will be going into jars tonight or tomorrow. I have not sampled this one at all yet. The buds seem a bit more airy at this point then the first couple plants but the 2 main colas weigh almost 7 grams each. 41.1 grams was her total weight this morning.
I am pretty stoked to be getting 1.25 -1.5 oz per plant already as these were rando seeds and had very little veg time.
Here is the garden this morning. The flower room is getting really empty. I culled the 4 non-fem afghan party cups that were in flower. I was way over my limit and I am sick of messing with males. The one little bushy afghans has been in flower for about 9 days now and I dont see any balls, which is a good sign. It's sibling was culled a couple days ago after showing balls.
The Kannabia Power Skunk is finally almost standing up out of the root riot plug.
