My first grow. How am I doing? (w/pics)

Hello all, I've just recently started my first grow from some bagseed and I have some questions on how I'm coming along. I've browsed all the FAQ's I can find on various sites so hopefully these won't be too n00bish.

Some stats first off. Being that I have to keep this operation as stealth as possible, and space was extremely limited I decided to grow only 1 plant for starters. Lucky for me, it's a girl.

Vegged 6 weeks @ 24/0 until 8" tall using 2 x 26W 6500K & 1 x 42W 6500K CFL's. Currently 12 days into flowering @ 12/12. Plant is currently 12" tall. Fertilized using Miracle grow potted plant food (I'm a cheapskate) and watered with purified water. Humidity in the room is very low (due to my window AC) and temps are solid. (I moved plant near a window for pic purposes.)

And now my questions:

Being that I have only 1 plant, is the 6100 Lumens enough for the grow area?

Can anyone tell the strain of this plant? By the leaves it looks more Sativa-ish in nature. Yes? no?

Internodes are spaced about 1 to 1.5 inches apart. Is that considered tight, loose, average, good, bad?

Judging by her current size and the pics, what is the average amount a plant like this can yield?

I can haz cheezburger?

So...how am I doing?

ayou will probally want to get a couple more cfl 's in there for bigger yields although you can flower with what you got but more light would bring in higher yields
...looking better than mine though lol keep on growing

just get a few Y splitters and attach them together, you can get another 3 lights off 2 Y's

from what i've read, i would ditch the mirror. the flat white wall is better.

Gratz - and yes - it looks nice. But one queston.
Why are you a cheapskate lol. Looks can be deciving, but chemistry still matters. Considering this is a one plant, its ok. But consider trying to find a more elite mix. I think there are a few Overseas (like in netherlands) that can ship supplies to the USA (small shipping charges too ) i saw a vid with a guy using a $50 bag of mix, but he also hand like $30 chemicals that helped (added to water) - his were growing like yours. So i think your doing great . Just remeber that its your plant, grow it how you want

To agree with Kevin, the mirror is made of glass which absorbs heat making the room hotter and seeing as the plant is very close to the mirror this could be risky. The growing looks great though and the nodes are about the right distance apart if not on the shorter hand and i hope for you that the harvest goes well you'll have to let us know how it went. Oh also you might want to consider trimming the bottom stems to allow the plant to focus on the bigger top branches... it might help get more buds for your buck. Hope this helps

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I should get rid of that mirror..and most likely will, but for now it serves dual purpose in blocking light from escaping the closet. On the bright side, at least it's not making the grow area hot because of the fan I've got. My CFL's are about an inch and half away and the temps at the top and side rarely go over 74°F. I'm relieved to hear that internode spacing is good too.

Basically it's a need for extreme stealth. I really have no alone time to be mixing up nutes. I think ordering overseas or off the web is out of the question as well. This is a cash-only operation. I figure I've had good luck so far being that I got a female on my first grow, and even luckier for the fact that she only barely gives off a faint scent even now during flowering which I can cover up with a Yankee candle. I figure I'll just use the K.I.S.S. method until I feel confident in my basic growing skills before I kick it up a notch and do things proper.

An update.

So several days ago I performed what I guess they call "bud tipping" in order to stop vertical growth (since height is becoming an issue), and get fatter buds. I also watered with a mix of molasses and strained blended banana peels since I hear the carbs and Potassium in the peels is good for flowering. I still have no idea on the strain though, but she's very low odor even at this stage. Any thoughts?

A small update. I added two more lights so now total light output is 9000 lumens. Feeding with alternating cycles of 15-30-15 bloom booster and plain water with molasses.

Here she is @ day 26 of flowering. At this rate I guesstimate another 4-5 weeks of flower and she's ready for harvest. Yes? No?




Here's another closeup of the top buds....this plant is starting to get quite frosty..I hope that trend continues.

Does anyone know if it will help or hurt my plant to supplement it with about 5 hours of direct late morning/mid afternoon (10 AM - 3 PM) sunlight near a window as long as the plant stays on a strict 12/12 schedule? I've done it a couple times and it seems to help, but I'm still not sure.

Looks good! Keep up the good work. And yes, mirrors are very very bad, they absorb light rather than reflect it. Use pure flat white walls, or the dull side of tinfoil, or theres some other market stuff to use, but, mirrors are the absolute worst, so if you haven't gotten rid if it, i would get on that hehe

Looks like a nice place, is this bagseed? From mersh / nugs ?

The mirror has white posterboard in front now, and the foil is gone so no worries there.

This girlie came from seeds that were all mixed up together over the years....from mexican brick weed to feminized seeds from great dro. I have no idea which she came from.


Any ideas on the supplemental sunlight? Will I cause her to hermie...or will she fatten up more? I'm hoping the latter.

sick dude i've got some bagseed that is about day 20 into flowering same hight same setup basically. mine is a little more cramped in a box but there's 2 2700 lumens 12/12 and an exaughst fan 24/7. I'm interested to see how yours turns out
