Hi girl, The plants are probably going well since the first posting but some info for the others and for you next time. Water the plant completely like froma can until about 15% comes out hte bottom. Too many growers manke the mistake of watering a little leaving the wet and dry pattern in your pictures. Water the way the do at a garden center in the morning. :0

You can always check the trichs, you got a microscope of sorts?
I use a hi res cam or a Fresnel lens to get a quick peep on how the glands are lookin.

yeah i bought a 60/100 microscope but im wondering if its ok to check them on the leaf to estimate ripeness.. because its very hard to check the bud itself...so i was wondering if it will still be accurate on a leaf ;) and what is the proper ratio again? ive heard 50 cloudy 50 amber is this right? thx again for the help -_-

People have their different measurements for when to harvest, all depends on what kind of high you want from the smoke. I usually go for about a 50 50 ratio like you said, or something around there. And I wouldn't suggest that you check the leafs because peak production in the buds is what you are looking for, and the rate at which the sugars are converted in the bud are different then they are in the leafs.
Good luck chika, nothin cuter than a chick grower.

hey datgirl

before you harvest the whole thing cut off a mature bud and look at it under the scope - it's a lot easier when its off the plant. even if it isn;t ripe it's smokeable so you won;t be wasting anything

Yea desert rat got a good idea, pluck a bud and give it a look see. What I did to find out when I want to harvest my bud is pluck buds at different times during the end of harvest from the same strain and jot down what I see in each stage and number the buds accordingly. I then dry and cure them and when all is ready I taste each bud at different times of the day to not mix the highs so I can determine which amount turning amber and cloudy that I like my buds to be at.
This difference is crazy from a Stony couch lock high to an up and buzzy kinda high. Tastes is also differentiated a long with smell. Be a lil scientist and research the thing you grow.
Hopefully this helps a little chika.
