My First Grow [stealth cfl lst]

anyway Refah, my point to doing them one at a time is that: 1- I lack space, the grow box is not even started, 2- I lack funds for actual planter pots, scraped up the $$ for average soil and a single decent cfl.. for now , 3- I want them to last and 4- if I germ'd them all without having all this ready, and they sprouted, I'd be fucked. simply.

So she (still unnamed btw) is doing well I guess, looks a bit bigger, looks what I think are the beginnings of the next 2 leaves, I watered a bit this morning at like 6ish and it is still a bit damp soil around .5" radius of the baby. so she's good until at least lights on tomorrow, but she may be watered a bit earlier than that, cuz of work, if she needs it that is. I cant always let her get a bit dry 1 day and just give her some water after. she's like 3" away from my light i believe - I'm not checking her again tonight, i'm fucking beat from work - so i shouldn't have to worry about heat at all. i wouldn't a bit closer either, but thats bending my lamp a bit far, will be fixed though. also i can still put my finger within an inch or closer even when on all day so.. just being extra careful with her seeing as it's my 1st time and I don't ever know when I'll have a 10.5 hour straight move, like today. and yesterday lmao.

anyway I'm out, OH! I'll take a pic tomorrow after work for my update. I'll post it too.

so I guess I didn't update yesterday. So here are some pics taken just moments ago.

So, to update you guys.

Well, I watered last on either the 3rd or the 4th, with approx 1 1/4 cup of multiple day old water at 2pm EST. (re: light sched 6am-12am)

The plant has developed leaf tip curling a bit, it may be dry and need water, or be from the mild nutes that came with my soil.. idk. (and oh yeah my light was about 1" or slightly more away from the plant, I raised it to just about 2")
Time now is 11:29, I watered her at about 11:11pm tonight with approx 1 cup water.

I have a few pics I took within 5 minutes of this watering, I'll look at her again in about a half hour to see if she's perked up from the watering before lights out.

So, ,

1, What do you guys think my tip curling is from out of the 3 likely options I've come up with lol

and 2, Is there, or have any of you found from experimentation if there is a better time of day to water or time of day the plants like water best during

wow. poor plant. The yellowish leaves make me think you are overwatering. You may need more light too...its hard to say.

side note: I added about an inch or so more soil today and added water to it.. i also made about 7 or 8 small holes in the bottom of my bucket and put it inside a larger square size ice cream container for the tray/ more sturdy carrying device.

I'll leave it and not water until at least Wednesday to see if that helps.. and maybe I'll move the light back to being a bit closer. I have my plant on some boxes in my closet right now. I" use the closet every day, it has a lot of my clothes in it. I have a white dress shirt that I've never worn, and won't, hanging right beside my plant to block it a bit and to hopefully reflect some light, and I have a black pair of dress pants behind the shirt to block light coming through, it helps keeps light from getting to the edge of the closet and getting out.

Thanks for the input man, maybe the watering is releasing too much nutes and the plant doesn't like that much yet.. idk, we'll see.

Water meters are only about 5 bucks at walmart or any other gardening store. Might help you out...at least to determine if that is indeed the problem.
And I don't really think it matters what time of day you water indoors. I just water mine when the meter says "dry" every 3 days or so.

good right up so far Your a begginer like me and doing it on a budget. Since your on a budget buy emergency blanket form walmart for 2.88 got mine 3 days ago I used a card board box since some light can penetrate my plant litterly doubled in size in 30 hours. also I germinated 3 hoping I get atleast one female to keep.

your pot looks like its got a.i.d's wat soil you using? budget is one thing.....but somethings arnt that expencive...like SOIL

I will look into a cheap water meter at Walmart, also, do they sell cheap PH testers.. or do cheap and PH tester not really fit in the same sentence.. lol.

Idk what you mean by a.i.d.'s but in my very first post you'll see what I'm using, and that is purely what I am using. Yes I'm on a budget, but I also started on a whim before I had all my supplies and before even my box was finished.

Though my friend told me I might be able to get a cutting or a few from his roommates plant.. I saw it yesterday actually,, looks healthy, very nice and green, and approx 1.5 to 2ft tall, growing in a pot on their back deck. If I can get those, I'll be planting them in pots with miracle grow plus sheep manure at my neighbours house.. she is a canadian medical marijuana license holder so she can grow those clones under her 1000w hps... I'm actually considering forgoing finishing my grow with cfl.. I might just let my plant get a bit bigger to maybe half a foot or something, and ask her if I can use her light in her place.

That would be the cheapest route to go. But its a lot of fun to grow your own.

Definitely, as I lack cash lol. AND cuz it/they would grow way fucking better under an hps. 1000w at that. good thing it's attached to the ceiling, I hope it's adjustable.

The next time I start a seed or even try a clone, I'll make sure I have a few multi bulb lamps and some power strips with socket converters in them. Well I suppose I could also remodel that dresser into the box I need...

a few mins ago, gotta eat quick and being picked up for work. I'll either update pics after work sometime, or tomorrow. It's getting bigger, not all leaves affected by whatever is causing the tip burning [i still think soil nutes], and the one side where the leaves are smaller seem to be catching up a bit in size.

robosasquatch - good to know, I have the day off tomorrow so I'll venture to walmart and other places and price out cheap water and PH testers.. I get paid wednesday, and I also don't work that day, so if I have a few extra bucks after putting rent aside and buying groceries and my weekly/biweekly quad, then I'll probably pick them up.

wooly- I hope it'll go well too. and I won't really be fostering them out because my neighbour is 2 floors below me and is an elderly senior, and if/when my plants go down there, I'll def be down at LEAST 3 times a week tending to it/them.

*~*~UPDATE~ *~*

So I haven't watered my plant since the last time I mentioned watering in a post here. I was away from about 11am sunday and got back this evening around.. ahhhmm.. actually around 8 maybe.. idk .. but anyway there was lots of new growth.. or more growth than I've noticed yet, though the pics will definitely be a difference to all you guys lmao.

I've got a few pics of my view of the closet, and of the escaping light.
A few of the pics are closeups [best I can get] of some thigns that are startign to grow on some of the places whre the leaves grow from the stem [called nodes if I'm not mistaken]

I watered her just after pics were taken, 1 cup distilled water.
I also changed the setup a little, bascially for height of lighting, just extra stackjing objects.. probably will be evident in later picstures lol. I'm not going to take anther pic of what i'm growing on right now so.. nah jk jk!! I swear, I love this site and every member I've encountered or interacted with and appreciate anything and everything guys, really.

So my neighbour finally got home from camping, and I visited her last night and brought my plant down, it's way too big for my 42 watter. She currently has a few dying mothers from someone else under her 1000w hps and it's on 24hr so i didnt want my plant in there, not sure if she'd be up on the watering as frequently with as much heat and light.. There was great sunlight yesterday and calling for lots of sun this week so she has it in a good spot on her balcony, and when the dying mothers are gone I will induce flowering with 12/12 using the hps.

ALSO I will get a picture or few.. she's not looking the greatest.. quite a bit of stretching around the cfl [I think] on the leaves and such.

In my previous post, you will see the first picture, is it okay for the leaves to be strectching as they are, like the petals or fingers are stretching away from where the other fingers come off the branch?? Doesn't look normal to me.. is it because of a def in nutes or something.. or simply because my lighting was insufficient?? again you can see an example in the 1st pic in my previous post.

Another, a few weeks back I don't remember if I made note here or not, but I accidentally broke off a small branch/growth tip that was fdorming.. so the next 2-3 branches on that 1/3rd of the plant are all gimpy looking.. pics in a few days!!

I just picked up a quad of juicyfruit and sour diesel each on.. wednesday ansd really i should sonserve a bit so it can last me 2 weeks, but i'm not the greatest at that lol. i'm pretty high atm, smoked numerous joints today, or should i say spliffs, of the avg. size, in zigzag thins.. ususlly 50/50 tobacco.. but only sometimes when i smoke joints..

Right now though, I'm going to be in for a magical smoke, a nice spliff rolled in a king size of a brand that is unknown atm because the pack is in my room and right now im busy so maybe only if someone actually wants to know, will i come back with that.. but the pape has a criss cross pattern in it.. supposedly to slow burning and make it more even.. idk if it really works.. i have 40/20/40 juicyfruit/cancer/sourdeez all rolled in that order layered bottom up. idk if i'm making 100% sense.. maybe like 90?? the first 3/4" is some space and a filter,, now for the filter i used some 1/2" long stem pieces,.. oh forgot to mentio nthese papes are hemp, so i'm all natural here.. now if i had no tobacco i'd be completely natural and medicinal.
i believe the juicyfruit is more sativa and the sour diesel more indica.

don't some people understand that biggest is not always best?? i mean i could smokes blunts all day and be just as fucked up.. and let me tell you.. i was completely and honestly in a state of bliss after i smoked that thing.. holy fuck man. Now the next time a score a bunch of half decent weed for half price along with my usual chronic, thats when i go bigger.. i like having a proper/ or appropriate mix. And liek i said before, I could have been just as fucked up smoking blunts.. but I'd have smoked more weed.. tell me where that makes sense?
