My first grow

So I thought it'd be a great idea to grow my own plants indoors and have some free bud for the summertime, but I have looked at a lot of the pictures on this site and I noticed that my plants seem like they're not bushy enough for their height. Take a look at a pic I took a couple weeks ago when my plant was just over half a foot tall and let me know what you think.

Yeah they are looking a tad bit stretched. Move your light/s closer to the plant tops.

Good Luck with your grow.

Another picture from above for a better idea. I keep the lights on for around 18-19 hours a day, my space is pretty big so they get plenty of air, and I water them regularly, then wait until the soil is almost dry all the way through to give the roots oxygen. In those pics the stems weren't very straight but they've straightened up and strengthened considerably since.

I can't take a pic right now since they're in their dark period but from what you see now, do you have any suggestions?

I have six plants altogether and three of the plants top leaves started to burn so I put the lights up higher. I know I'm new at this and any suggestions you have would help me out.
THanks

I noticed your pics and you use the energy saving coil lights right? I haven't been using that for my plants but do they do less damage the closer I put them? I figured they wouldn't be that good since they give off a very strong white light while I've heard the plants need a softer yellowish light. Thanks for the luck, wish me good females tho lol
