My First Grow

This is my first grow. I used a seed out of a bag of high quality buds, unfortunately I don't know what exact strain it is. I was just wondering if any experienced growers out there could give me some insight on what type of plant it may be. Indica?
Sativa?

I built my own grow box from pictures I saw off of this site. The dimensions are 4' tall x 2' x 2'. It has intake and outtake air fans. Walls are covered in mylar.

It is in it's fourth week of flowering under a 150hps with two full spectrum cfl's equivalent to 100 watts each. I germinated the seed in a damp paper towel. and when it popped I planted it in some regular miracle grow soil and watered it with only filtered water with reversed osmosis.

I kept it under 18/6 light cycle for three weeks or until it hit 11" tall. Then I put it under 12/12 until now. Now it is at 25" tall. Now watering it with a 10/54/10 fertilizer mixture.

I am basically going to go off of a 8 week flowering period. So around 8 weeks I will have to keep my eye out for amber tricomes. Any advice, opinions, whatever. Feedback is appreciated! I'm super excited about this plant. Any estimates on the yield based off of the pictures and the height as it stands now?

very nice for a first grow. I was wondering why the 18/6 and not 24/0?
+rep gr8 plant looks like a nice size indica, as far as strain thats a crap shoot.

Thanks for the rep. lol, well I found out that you could keep the lights on 24/0 about 7-8 days into 18/6, I didnt want to change it and played it safe, kept it at 18/6. But next grow Ill definately go 24/0, I bet it would cut down the time it spends in Veg stage a bit.

Nice, Indica, thanks I had no idea. Cause at first the leaves looked thick, then just reciently they seems to grow out much thinner looking. Also I noticed it was starting to smell skunky about 7 days before I put it into flowering, it stopped smelling about 3-4 days later.

Im starting to worry about the height though, I had the HPS light closer to it (about 6-8") and the leaves would start to get burn spots. I figure the girl is at 25" now and has about 3-4 more inches before it starts to get into that burning zone, my light is almost to the top of the box. Any ideas of how much more this girl is going to grow? and if its going to get into that burn zone, any ideas of what to do as far as stunting its height speed?, maybe tieing it down?

Im giving it a 10/54/10 fert solution atm, I water it approx every other day, which is when the soil feels crusty and very light.Ill water it with plain filtered water every 2-3 times I give it nutes, just in case my soil starts to create deposits and build up of unwanted nutes, salts and also to keep the PH under control. I have a 150w HPS on top and 2 full spectrum CFL's made by Aero-Tech equal to 100w normal light. I figure there is 4750 lumens of light per square foot in there, I might throw in a couple more CFL's to light up the bottom buds. Its seems to get kind of hot in the box, not sure of the temp, Ill need to pick up a thermometer in the next couple of days, Im not too concerned with the heat though, only concerned of the girl growing higher and getting too close the the HPS light. Any ideas of how to prevent it from growing too high? I thought about "pinching" the stem somewhere around the top just under the cola. Any ideas would help.

Some updated pics...

If anyone has any advice or input to help with the burns, that would be great. I just bought another 6" fan to help, not sure what else to do. She is now 26" tall and growing. Thanks.

I was thinking and I remember reading about something called a light defuser. Can anyone comfirm? And if so would that help with the spotty burns that are happening to the top of this girl? Can I make 1 myself? or do I have to go on the dreaded search asking the retards at Home Depot and Menards. I swear, I go to these stores maybe once a month and I can actually tell the employees more about the stuff they sell than they can. Anyhow I raised my 150w HPS light as far as it can go, and its still causing burns. Can this girl live thru this? I estimate there is approx. 18 more days till harvest. If I go by the 8 week flowering period. Quik advise would be appreciated. I dont want to lose her after all this work!
