hello i got a seed which i germinated and then planted into soil. It has been growing fast for just being sat in the sun on my windowsill, but the stem is very long id say 3 to 4 inches long then only 2 little leaves growing off the top does any think pinching it will help it grow stronger and bushier. As all its doin at the minute is sending all nutrients and growth to the top so i think soon to come my plant will fall over lol which i want to try and stop happening it would be great if someone could leave a comment so i can get some info thank you

yeh i could but im not looking to spend money until i decide to grow more than one plant like 10 plants. So this is just a practice grow but im juts trying to fine out whether it could be pinched so it will get stronger from the bottom

unless you get more light on it, you won't have to pinch it for it to fall over, it will do so on its own. then it will die.

yeh but its sending all nutrients and that to the top of the plant because yeh like you say its stretching for light so therefore if u pinch it it will slow down the growth wont it then concentrating on where its damaged

no because the plant is searching for light in order for photosynthesis to occur. the reason it is searching for light is because it is not being provided with a strong enough source of light for photosynthesis to occur. therefore, pinching the stalk will do you no good because the plant will continue to stretch meaning it will eventually fall over and die. i see in your pics you don't even have the blinds open. you need to get more light on that thing ASAP or it will die.

no the blinds are open when i took the pic i put them down so that the pic wasn't as crap as what it is now. I am getting the feeling it will fall down but still my mate grew one in the sun and ive seen more on the internet growing in the sun and they looked all great green and healthy mine is looking healthy im sure of it. So why isnt the sun the best thing to use just for natural growth like just to grow the plant whats wrong with the sun?

nothing is wrong with using the sun, but by the way your plant is stretching, it's not getting enough light. at the very least you should bury that stem in some more dirt to help it out. also, how long are the days there in london this time of year? you will want at least 18 hours of light a day. try and get a couple of CFL's on that plant to help the sun out. they don't cost much, and your plant will thank you :)

stop arguing with the man and just fork out the cash for the lights - you need them

dude I'm stoned so I'm chill right now

Johnny had some good advice there and if you could get some more light in there that could save the plants and help out with stronger stem growth. As it is if it did survive do you think those stems would support the kind of buds you would *love to grow?

if you're only getting 14 hours of daylight then you need to get some extra light on it ASAP or you will force the plant into flowering prematurely which will have a very negative affect on your yield. plants start flowering when they receive 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness.

yeh fairplay mate im stoned man how it has to be daily

eerm i just checked out the CFL'S and what like watt am i looking at here for them to grow nice strong stem without spending a load of cash cause i will order one now

the more the better. ideally the 42 watters, but if you can only afford the 27 watt ones then those will suffice for now until you can scrape together some more cash
