My first grow

Hey everyone. I'm about to start my first grow ever (just waiting for the seeds, should be here soon). Im growing six plants organically, assuming they are all females(wishful thinking...). I think i have everything i need, but im not sure so ill list it.

-250 Watt MH Light (ballast, housing, reflector).
-Foxfarm Ocean Forest organic potting soil (has lots of nutrients, bat guano, worm castings etc.)
-Carbon Scrubber
-Grow Pots
-Earth Juice Budding nutrients(not sure if ill use because of all the nutes already in the soil)
-Oscillating Fan

I really feel like im forgetting something. I know i need mylar, but i cant really afford it. Well, i can, but theres just more important stuff i need. So heres my seeds:

10 Northern Lights X Big Bud
10 Ice
10 K2

Ive heard the NL X BB is great, and i know K2 is good, but I havent heard much about Ice. Anybody had it before? Saw pictures of the buds and it looked sooo dank, but of course looks can be decieving.

So, is there anything im missing? And also, how much better is a HPS light for budding? Will it increase bud production by alot, or is a metal halide good for budding? I know HPS has more of the blue spectrum, which plants need for budding, but is it worth shelling out another $150 for a new light system?

You will probably be ok without it. I don't use any right now and I'm doing ok. I got white walls though.

HPS would be the way to go for budding. It has lots of red light, which the plant likes during that growing stage. MH is good for vegging, due to the blue spectrum it outputs. You should have bought a switchable ballast. You could have done MH/HPS with that way. This is especially good if you don't plan on having more then one growing cycle going at a time.

Looks like some good choices there on the herb. I will definately be following this one. Keep me updated bro...

Better for budding then what, CFL's? Or MH? I bet you could do it with MH, but it puts out a lot of blue spectrum. Like I said, plants like red at that stage.

Well, I haven't got to that stage, so I can't honestly tell you. But I can tell you that I've read plenty of grow journals on here and seen results. I'd say ounces from what I've seen with HPS.

Yea man, I suggest you check out the grow journal section. You can learn a whole lot just from following someones grow. You run into all the same problems they do when you follow them, no what I mean? So this prepares you if you ever have the same situation.

my seeds should be here soon, but they are taking a lot longer then i thought. its been a little over 2 weeks since i ordered. i hope customs didnt get them.

pictures coming soon. my grow room(more like a grow closet) is pretty geto. got my lights hanging with bent up coat hangers.

LOL, that's about how I had mine when I first started my grow. As long as it works, who gives a shit...

What seed bank did you order the seeds from?

When you get some more money I would STRONGLY suggest getting a pH meter (cheap at lowe's, under $8.00) and ensuring your pH that you will water with is around 6.5. Trust on this man, i almost screwed my whole setup too by using spring water with a ph of like 7.5.

Yes, you can use PH down from the pet store.

I would setup my grow room, but i dont want to until i get the seeds. Im not sure if they are ever going to get here. Im starting to wonder if they were ever shipped, because its been at least 3 weeks...longer than that actually, but i dont know exactly how long. I would email seed boutique but i used a fake email to order the seeds and now i cant remember the password, and i cant remember the answer to my "secret question" so that i can get them to tell me it. I havent even gotten a note from customs.... anyone have any idea what mightve happened? has this happened to anyone else?

for god sakes...these seeds still arent here yet, but i looked at my calendar and its been about 28 days since i ordered them counting sundays...but since they dont ship sundays i guess its been around 24 days. maybe they'll still get here, i dont know...

very bad news. a friend of mine turned out to be an asshole, and he had stolen a few of my credit cards. he got pulled over by the cops and had some meth and syringes and shit in his car as well as my credit cards. so now they got a narc on the case. he came by my house to get my statement and i was shitting myself because i had a bong in the other room. im supirsed he didnt smell anything. gunna have to put off my grow, even tho i didnt get the seeds anyway. im gunna wait for this hole thing to blow over.
