My First Hydroponic Grow N Questions

I am beginning the process of starting my first hydroponic grow. I have decide to use a DWC system hidden in a homemade dresser grow box. Also I have choosen to use CFLs over HIDs due to my level of experience with indoor growing which is none existent. My question is how many times do I change the nutrition solution in the DWC and can I still SCROG train a Hydroponically grown plant?

As a general guideline: Change the water every week or two. As it gets bigger, it should be every week. Ultimately, though, it depends on the size of the plant vs the amount of water in the container.
