Ok, So i bought a 2ft 4bulb t5 light setup.. 3xblue 1xred light. To supplement the lighting of the t5 i made a homemade 6 light setup that holds 6x 100w clf.. I was wondering if this would be of much help or a waste of electricity... they would have to be side lighting. I will be growing 5 autoflower plants (3 i will veg indoors and put outside to flower).. the other 2 i would want to do all indoors. Those two will be "fast bud automatic" and "60 day wonder"... I have Jacks 20-20-20 fertilizer, maxi bloom for flower, rooting liquid, and ProMix as the medium. I also put a temp gauge up and a small fan seeing as the room is about 4ft x 3ft.. my question is, is this enough lighting? any advice? This is my first grow and I would love any advice from experienced growers.. Will 2 plants smell too much for an appartment?

I think your off to a good start I don't think t5s and Cfls r optimal but they get the job done I don't know your total lumen output or watts but if u figure that out u want a min of 50 watts per sq ft and atleast 5000 lumens per sq ft.

I have a T5 4 bulb lamp, I run a 50/50 mix on the bulbs start to finish. I do use CFL to assist and don't consider it a waste, two plants max. Don't veg them too tall, I go to 12/12 at about 9 inches. I don't know about the plants you have listed but, I had 2 bublicious plants that stunk up my entire house. I would get some odor control in your budget for an apartment grow. Good luck!

Just wanted to chime in, I have nothing to offer but I was thinking of getting a 2 foot, 4 bulb T5 lamp I saw at HTGSupply. Actually two of them. Would you recommend them for 5 square feet?

JT, it really depends on what you intend to use them for and your expectations.
S1, 2 is really the max for that little light and the CFL's should help a good bit. I think that you have a plan.
