My First Journal: 1000w JillyBean Scrog

Hello friends. Ive been reading/learning from RIU for quite some time now, and only recently starting posting. Ive got a fun grow going on right now, and i thought id start my first journal.
So as always, tips, ideas and comments are welcome and appreciated.

This grow is my first larger single plant scrog. I got some TGA JillyBean seeds for last summers waterfarm grow i did. I LOVE JillyBean, as i love the happy feeling, taste and smell, and she yields quite nicely. Anyway, i got 3 ladies out of the 4 seeds i got, and this lady is my one taller pheno. If i got a candy store, then this one would be her. She had a lovely purple hue about her at harvest as well, which the other 2 didnt have.

I have been inspired by so many people and grows on this site, and i am truly grateful to everyone. Im a huge Scottyballs fan, and even though i am using soil this time, i find that Flora Nova Bloom is all i need for nutes.

Four weeks ago i put this plant in her 10 gal mesh pot that i made, with 10 gal of Roots Organics Soiless mix. I love this soil(less). I find it does have a hydro-esk growth to it. Anyway, its hard for me to say how long shes been technically in veg, as i had her in a very small pot sense her cloning, kind of "hangin out small", in my T5 Veg box i made. I am a OMMP, and we have plant limits as far as number and size go. So i count from when she went from a baby size pot, to her new home - which was just over 4 weeks ago.

I am also a fan of Dru West, and his West Coast Masters book. I have been scroging sense my first grow, modeled from threads on this site. i feel like ive had some good ones and seen some great ones on here. But there are some things in Dru's book that take things to the next level. So basic, yet full of kick ass-ery. Inspired by such as well.

Have some pics shall we?
This was her about a week and a half-ish into big veg. She was under my 400w CMH for the first two weeks, then under the 1000w.

The other pic is the 10gal mesh pot i made. Just some mesh materiel that i sewed together. And its in a tough green saucer, that i drilled a half inch hole into and put a drain tube. Thorough watering and flushing are now much easier with this soiless scrog.

Here is her now. Her Screen is made from wood, wire and screws from the local hardware store. Screen is 39"x39" inside, or about 10 square feet. aka about 100w per sqft.

:lol:dude, I gotta tell you that your first journal post had me rolling on the floor lmao. Gotta tell you why. I haven't paid much attention to strain names for years, so I had never heard of jillybean before. The big hoot is that 4 years ago, I rescued a 4 pound min-pin (mini-doberman) from the rescue society. Because she was removed from an abusive home, they were able to get her AKC papers and included them with the dog. You're not gonna believe this !! The dogs registered name is "jilly Bean". I had no clue that the girl was named after a weed strain. Good luck with the grow, I'll follow you. Also, can you give me the supplier of the seeds?? You just know I gotta try it!!!!!

So its now 11 days into flower... still not as much stretch as i expected. I grew this girl in a waterfarm last time, and there was almost 3x stretch. So far here, i'd say theres not much more then 10%. Kind of odd... Anyway, she is pretty though. While the branches are using the screen, they are still quite strong.

Cool man, thank you! Ya it was actually Jill's first strain she made her self. Space queen (romulan x c99) x a mystery orange skunk.

how did I miss this looks good keep her healthy interesting to see a 1000w go at this how are your conditions treating you, could you go in depth a little more about your watering situation you water and put a drain tube in your saucer do you drain the water into a bucket and reuse or is this a hydro set up I see you use roots organic I have just been trying to figure out how I am going to hand water and keep the screen 6" or so above my screen my last scrog I had my screen nearly 2 feet in height because I felt I would not be able to water because of the lack of the proper angle for my watering can to leak into the pot if you can picture that interested to see how this grow goes I am subbed keep up the good work!

dapio, ya man. i had the low overhead watering can issue as well on my first screen i made. From then i on i decided, any soil scrogs i do, make the screen height just tall enough to get your watering device under. This screen is actually about 12" above the soil, which i find is right for me. Partly because of height, and partly because 12" is where mature and immature plants are divided by OMMP law. So thats my 2cent. But ya, its just a normal soil(less) setup, but with a drain tube attached to the saucer. I like to water super thoroughly, and this way i can just drain out the excess. But i put it on a wood platform that i made, which is about 6" high, so i can drain it back into my watering can.

Thanks. Im using Roots Organics Soilless mix. Really good medium. And the tube is for draining the saucer.
