I'm sure you've mentioned this in the past but I must have forgotten, how do you drain your set-up for a res change?

I have an extra submersible pump attached to a long 3/4" tubbing and I place it in the control bucket. I elevate the other two buckets a few inches from the ground so it will drain to the control bucket and that way I can get most of the water out.some other people uses quick disconect with a ball valve to each bucket or you could drill a hole about an inch from the bottom of each bucket put a grommet a 90 deg elbow and a piece of tubbing the lenght of the bucket and just turn it 90 deg to the horizontal position and drain it that way hope this helps.

I like the pump idea, sounds effective and easy. Thanks, I'm figuring out exactly what I want to do before I start so I dont have to or want to change anything later. I'm kind of waiting to have all the equipment before i start this time, ive been doin it half assed for to long lol. Ive had great results the way I have been growin for the past few years and I just have to know how good it will be when I have everything just right so to speak.

wow, looks great. I was thinking of trying a hydro but this seems hard. Any reasons as to why you so oftenly have to clean out you're rez? From most places I read you only do it once or twice a grow cycle. One thing that happened to me when I tried to make a top drip was my rockwool got alge and made some serious smell and killed the plants they were in. Also I didn't have the right nutes, so they cloged the tubes. But looking at this from start to now i have to say, way to go man.

I used to change it every week but now experience tells me that is not necessary, I do change the pump filter twice a week.
