My greenhouse experiment

Once again, organic is the way to grow. It has been four days since my last post and they are still taking off. The stems are strong and healthy. The foliage is spreading rapidly and all I feed them is a molasses and fish emulsion mix. The last picture is the inside leaves but the three before it is the deformed girls. They are finally making me proud. I could start flowering them now but I am having too much fun watching them grow. Right now most are at six to seven inches tall and the three deformed ones are at four. They are all looking like they will have a lot of buds. I was looking at one of shunkushybird's grow journals and my girls are starting to look like his did. Not bad for 3 1/2 weeks old. But I must do something soon because even under just 168w of light, I am going to have some monsters on my hands. Peace

Awesome! Very nice looking plants. I have a few deformed looking ones myself, not sure if it's due to the light being so close to them or what. The only thing I could think is the leaves are crowding each other. I keep my lights almost touching the tops of the plants, so they haven't stretched a single bit since sprouting.

Glad to see you're making progress!

Just FYI, those peat pots are supposed to go right into the new pots along with the plants when you transplant. They are biodegradable and will break down, that's why they allow the roots to grow through.

One reason I didn't want to plant the peat cups is the mold that grows on the sides. Some of it can do some serious root damage.

Well, I have been using my sweet mix every other watering and the Chelates are paying off. The growth rate is rapid. I am quickily getting my SOG, but I don't want to much crowding. Even my three deformed girls are going to run out of room soon. I am justed worried about the change in lightcycle for my girls. Number 10 seemed to be having a zinc problem but I think I corrected it with a little extra molasses, but I didn't use any emulsion on her. So, here they are. I am the proudest father there ever has been. Even though my guerilla grows of the past has yielded 8 and 9 ft tall plants, I think this will be my best ever. And, with Bill C-15 on the verge of becoming law, it guarantees that I can't shared with anyone I know. Yeah, I think? Anyway, i hope you enjoy the pics.

I am starting to make BnB tea for my girls now. I am using 4 liter milk jugs as I finish them. That way I will, also, get a 1/4 to a 1/2 tsp of calcium per mix. I am using a 7-7-0 BnB mix so the tsp won't burn them. I going to let each mix sit for 2 weeks before using, that way it is nice and ripe. The milk will be ripe, too. I still need to find something to add a low level of potash to the mix. Also, I am going reduced the molasses watering to once per week, instead of twice. I want to give the girls time to use up some of the chelates. They are still looking good but the crowding on number 8 worries me. I gave her a foliar feed last night and it seems to have helped some but only time will tell. I may just sit her on my back deck because she is too small for my neighbors to even tell what she is. She is really bushy at 4 inches but seems to have stopped all new top growth. If anyone has any advice feel free to give it.

P.S. I know it's crowded from the last pics and some will be moved to their new home soon.

Here they are two days later. The smell is getting pretty bad and the fan doesn't seem to vent much air out. I got to fix it. I is the most pungent smell that I have experenced in growing for the last, almost, 15 years. I have grown shunk but this is even more of a shunk smell than any of the stuff down south. If I'm not careful the boss is going to catch me. Enjoy the pics.

I made a vent system yesterday for less than 15 dollars. It seems to work well. The current temp is 71 F and humidity is at 64%. I set it on it's on timer so it can stay a little warmer at night. I will have pics tomorrow with my plant update, don't laugh at the construction quality because it's a cheap setup. Peace.

Today I have to decide which plants stay inside and which ones go out. I need to go and get at least 5 ten gallon pots, soil, and perlite. I think girls one thru five will get moved outside. Number three needs to go because she is turning into a monster. I will need an outside timer for the fan, as well. The crowding is now a problem. But, the room is cool and the smell is under control.

This is probably the last time the girls will be in one picture together. The vent system I made is in there, as well. They are growing up so quick. One day they are seedlings and the next you are freaking out the neighbors will see the monster plants on your property. Enjoy the pics. Peace.

wow def looks alot better then what you ran into the first time around! keep up the good work for sure!

So here is the girl’s semi permanent spot. I didn't realize that the roots had gone thru the bottom already. The transplants will happen Friday. Tomorrow I will be fimming them, except for eight and ten. They are still having deformity problems.

One thru four are now in the greenhouse and five thru ten are still in the grow room. I may move more out at a later date. Peace.

I just did a lot of research and it seems that most grapefruit strains don't benefit from topping or fimming. Since this is my first time growing this strain, I'm only going to fim one of the girls outside. Plus, I hope I have at least one male in the next few weeks so I can produce seeds from one of the girls. Peace.

Here are the girls today. The four in the greenhouse are growing like crazy. Almost four inches in 3 days. The indoor girls are moving at about the same rate they always have. I may be moving 6 to the greenhouse today, as well. I still have only been feeding them water for the most part. Today they got their molasses tea and the outdoor girls got fish emulsion mixed with theirs.
I am including some pics of my once seven foot tall tomato plants, a storm broke the top of one. It is in the pic alone, rooting. Enjoy

I moved 5 and 6 out to the greenhouse today. I am going to start flowering 7 - 10 at the end of next week. They are just now starting to show signs of alternating nodes.

The outdoor girls all have their number seven magic blades. If they start flowering naturally, which should be in about 3 weeks, they should only be about seven feet tall. That is the perfect height for the greenhouse. Last night, when the lights cut on, I pruned the inside girls. Number 8 and 9 are both sexually mature and ready for flowering but 7 and 10 are not. I think this could be because of the high rate of deformities that 8 and 9 both have. 9 has alternating nodes that are about 1 inch apart and 8 has never produced the big fan leaves. It has always grown the pre-flower limbs and looks like it is a SOG but it has never been cut or tied. I will post new pics and separate my post starting next week. That way it will be easier to keep up with the separate grows.

I just mixed up the outdoor girls new beds. Each one contains 22 parts soil, 2 parts perlite, and 1 part of blood/bone meal (7-7-0). Each container has about 3.2 gallons of mix in it. I can't wait to see how they do. If I have time I will post pics of them tonight.

Here is the girls in their new beds. I have them back in the original order that they have always been in. I am still going to use the names 1 - 10 for all of them to make it easier to keep track.

Today I must transplant the girls. They are still going to flowered this friday. The root ball on 3 of them is starting to push out of the soil a bit. I have been putting them off some since it has been raining so much here but I can't push it back anymore. So here is the last pics of the inside girls before they get a lighting change friday. I am replacing 2 of the 42w cfl's with 6 23w cfls and adding an extra lamp. This will push it from 168w at 6500k to 84w at 6500k and 138w at 2700k. I know they will love the extra 54w of light. Hopefully, I will get the magic gram per watt but if I can get at least 200g from them I will be happy. The outdoor girls should be enough to create a storage problem by themselves. The last pic is of the roots pushing out of the soil. Enjoy the pics. Peace

I had some of the notorious white mold to start growing on the soil of the outdoor girls.
I put a light dusting of cinnamon over all 6 beds to dry it up. With the constant rain and high humidity, the soil has not needed to be watered since the 18th. On a side note, the indoor girls were transplanted today, as well. I should have pictures of all of them tomorrow.
