:joint:whats up rollitup peeps? i been kinda absent for a while but now im back! i want to grow a lil smaller this time and grow in a cabinet (76h x 31w x 21d). i usually use mh & hps but i want to experiment with cfl's this time. with this cabinet (which i will have a link dwn below so u can see) i can easily put two 5 gallon bubbleponic systems in there. with that kind of setup, what amount of lights should i put in that biatch? and do i put half cool white and half warm white? and what watts do yall prefer? plz any advice on the cfl's i sure would appreciate it!

You can check out the link in my sig and join the cfl cartel first of all :)

That space sounds pretty close to what I have and I'm running about 250w with 2 plants right now.. My shortrider is getting cut tomorrow though and she got out of control 4 feet tall... My advice would be to keep them no taller than 2 ft and top,lst or both. Most importantly keep the lights as close as possible! Come by and check out my WonderWoman grow if you want, shes getting quite fat and I didn't train her at all, "I wish I would have.."

As far as the spectrum to choose, I've had great success with daylight "6500k" cfls for veg.. "You don't need much" I used 50watts for 3 plants until they went into flowering..
For flowering I've read quite a few journals and everyone that I know that gets great results with cfl's use mixed spectrum. I would suggest mostly 2700k cfl bulbs but a few 6500k's thrown in there will definitely help!

What are you going to be using for exhaust in that cab? Thats the main problem I've found with growing in cabs..

as far as the exhaust, i havent got that far yet? in my first grow i just had a big open space with good air movement, so i didnt even worry about exhaust. idk do you have any suggestions? i knew i was gonna have to get some exhaust fans but didnt really think it would get too hot with cfl lights? how hot did your cabinet get? i was thinking 6 lights for the whole grow, but i havent studied too much on the cfl theorys yet.

Yea that exactly what I thought so I just went with 2 cpu fans and that did work but it was still pretty hot.. Around 88 on the high and ambient temp in the room was around 80..

It really depends on your temp in the room on the outside of the cab. I would at least get a couple 70 cfm cpu fans like I did and run them both as exhaust and then just have passive intake hole to suck in fresh air from the negative pressure..

Trust me, get that figured out now and you will save yourself a lot of time and head aches in the future!!

If you need help with fans lmk and I'll point you in the right direction!

Just hop on ebay and look for 70cfm cpu fans. then if you have any old 12v chargers laying around you have to splice the wires and connect them.. Or you could spend like 30 and get an inline fan thats around 100 cfm's and it plugs right in.. It really depends on the money but as long as you have 1 70 cfm cpu fan it will definitely be better than nothing!
