My Grow Journal

Ok so im setting up my first indoor grow after before i moved my outdoor crops failed (my fault though i had a hard time getting out all the time), all which im waiting on is to germinate my seeds and to bring a few pots into my room, filled with soil. now im doing an old school grow so im not going to be too involved with small details which would make my bud a little better, im just sticking to simple stuff like how much do i water and how often

Ok so a few questions before i start my germination :

1.) After I plant my seeds, how often do i water them and how much, dont worry about PH or anything because im using bottled water to water the plants so the PH should be fine.

2.) How long do I have lights on/off

3.) Is there anything else i should do at the begining of my grow to make my plant nice to produce stronger thc % and a bigger yeild?

4.) For my grow room, what is the point of foil.. to keep in heat so outside police dont detect it or to reflect light and warm it better, my area is warm already so i dont need this really if its warmth you need.

Im going to start germinating my seeds after i finish this post so reply soon so i can finish my grow room.

Also can you tell me what type of things i need to do at specific age of my plants.
For instance, How should my light patterns for my plants be at what age, like a little table which shows like, how much on/off time do i have for a specific age and what stage my plant is in. If you think i should look more im going to do that also but if you could answer my questions and with the stuff i research ill make a basic closet / small dark indoor place guide after im done, who knows maybe ill win seeds in a competition and not have to grow a shitty local strain.

well as far a lights go... if you want to grow your plant keeps lights on for 18hours and off for 6. if you want your pants to flower (produce bud) you'll want your lights on for 12 hours and off for 12 hours.

for watering it depends on your plant and soil. you want your plants to drink and breathe. which means water your plants so that some water comes out the bottom of the pot (yes, you need holes on bottom, it's a good thing). then don't water until the soil is some what dry. depending on your soil it may be a few hours or a few days.

for growing you'll want to use fert that has a higher nitrogen count (i.e. 15-6-6). for flowering you'll want to use a higher middle number (I'm high and forgot what that one means but should look something like 10-20-10).

you'll always want to have fresh air and a fan blowing on your plants

foil is used to reflect light on to plants. mylar is used too.

so i can control how big i want my plant before i flower since i controll the lights is what your saying

also, if something with lights like 13 hours on, 11 hours off after i grew the plant but while its still at a young age, and gradually increased the time on so instead of having a big plant and then just instead of changing it to 18 on 6 off over a faster time once its real big, i want to do it over a gradual time so it gets a head start growing its bud and so its grown smaller and has bud growing for a long time, hell, it may even change how the yeild comes out.. if you dont understand what im saying ill make like a little time chart

---------------------------------------------
| Ages of an average plant in % | Hours On/Off |
---------------------------------------------
| Start - 30% | 12 / 12 |
---------------------------------------------
| 30% - 40% | 13.5 / 10.5 |
---------------------------------------------
| 40% - 50% | 15 / 09 |
---------------------------------------------
| 50% - 65% | 16.5 / 07.5 |
---------------------------------------------
| 65% - 80% | 17 / 07 |
---------------------------------------------
| 80% - End | 18 / 06 |
---------------------------------------------

to answer your first statement, you can pretty much decide how big or small your plant is by the amount of light it gets.

if your plant isn't flowering then it's growing, and when it's flowering it's growing too (can sometime double you plant size (depending on strain)).

to answer your second question, i really don't know, but if i were extrapolate the correct answer i would say this..

i would start out with the 18/6 and when you want to grow and for flower go 12/12. i guess you can 'ease' your plant to the 12/12 light stage, haven't heard anything about it so i don't know. i guess it's more natural, as that's kinda what happens in nature

uh shit i did the chart backwards i meant to have it 18/6 at birth and to ease down light not ease up from 12/12

Or you could just go with the the normal 18-6 12-12 light schedules, as to keep things less complicated.

You are completely right about not going into a 12 on and 12 off period in an instant pg 302 of the cannabis bible states for indoor grows you drop an hour a day just like you said. I hope this helps you
