My grow room with some cheese.

Hey guys and girls.

Well room area is clean.

I've potted up some coco in small pots.

Soaked it through with my nutes at the following rate
4ml per litre Rhizotonic
1ml per litre VEGA A and B
At an EC of 0.9.
pH 5.7.

I finally made a decision about which seeds to pop.

I have planted 3xFruity Chronic Juice and 1xCritical+.

I won't be documenting this grow but I'll still be around on RIU to lend a hand wherever I can.

I almost didn't document this grow but people were disbelieving some of the techniques I use. So this grow was to prove you can pretty much get 4oz per plant from a 2ft tall plant with only 3weeks veg time from rooted 5" tall clones.

Here are my final pics of this thread.

The start of a new grow. Hmmm I love it!!!

Oh and yes I'm using a 400w HPS to pop beans.

I don't pre germinate. I just plant in the hole, water them in and wait. HPS is around 2ft away.

See you around RIU forums everyone!

Aww look at my beautiful boy!!! Had to throw that last pic there

I wish i was your neighbour jon :) cracking stuff!

have just started 4 plants under 250w / 400w myself. If i even hit 2-3 oz a peice i'll be a happy man!

You can do it man. Stay positive!

From seed I tend to do 3-5weeks veg depending upon plant growth.

Good luck!

If you need any pointers let me know.

Cheers!

off to a decent enough start, it's just maintaining decent plant health now especially through flower,

here they are 12 days since birth and 2 days after transplant..

i will be vegging for another 2-3 weeks at least, pinching the tops in a couple more days i think and maybe try some LST on them even though i don't have heaps of room. Would you say that's my best bet of a good yield?

With a 400w as you can see your plants can occupy a footprint of around 3.2ftx3.2ft as they reach full flowering.

You want as many colas in that area as possible within 3ft from the lamp down to your pot rim.

So IMO topping and a small amount of LST is the way to go.

I use square pots to be able to use bamboo in the corners but LST can be performed using a screw around the rim of your pot with some garden wire or string.

I like to LST during the stretch period of the first 2weeks of 12/12. Spreading out the canopy as I go to open up the centre of the plant. This allows secondary growth to catch up to my tops and become tops themselves.

As you probably know I set myself realistic targets on yield. As I mentioned in the start I would've been happy
with 2-3oz per plant. But I was gunning for 4.4oz to try and best the clone supplier.

Its always better to aim low on yield and be happy when you exceed your target.

What medium and nutes have you chosen?

Thanks for the reply.

i literally only have 1 meter squared with 1.2m head room so i guess i'll have to be carefull with the topping and LST not to over do it.

i've chosen plant magic products for the 1st time and so far i'm loving them, they have just been planted into the soil supreme which seems like a shit hot soil, very fluffy and aerated but suprisingly dosen't dry out too fast.

Have been thinking about grabbing some of their pk 13/14 and i think i will. I normally just feed the base grow and bloom from start to finish but i'm definatly looking to up it on the yield this time round.

Hey folks.

Well as you can remember all that time ago (3days to be exact lol) I dry planted my seeds into my wet coco.

What do you know!!!! ITS ALIVE!!!!

One of the FCJ is starting to break ground.

The others are still underground at present.

I've been helping a guy out increase his yield using plant magic nutes.

The good thing about their PK1314 is that it has a small amount of N within it.

The guy I'm helping out has used his grow formula for almost 4weeks and then if I remember correctly has starting adding grow and bloom together to make a better N% as the bloom are quite lacking in N from what I remember.

This is his choice based on my advice. As I mentioned to him, HE knows his nutes and can see his plants reactions. He based it on getting a small amount of N tox in the claw.

So he decided to switch from ALL grow to a 50/50 mix of G/B.

Just thought you may want to know. He can already see this in his plants that they going to yield him alot more. He averages 1.5oz a plant.

Hey j thanks for that.

actually the bloom i was about to grab is the plant magic old timers... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLANT-MAGIC-PLUS-OLD-TIMER-ORGANIC-SOIL-BLOOM-PLANT-FOOD-1L-/230939989326?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item35c518954e

i like the look of the ratio of it and will more then likely keep the green leaves going especially as i read they have added magnesium among other secondary and minor elements. i think this along with the PK boost would be a good combo.

let me know what you think mate.

That's organic mate.

Are the other nutes you're using organic?

In order to make use of organic nutes they need to broken down my the friendlies contained in the plants rhizosphere.

If your other nutes are chem's then these slow the growth of the friendlies and in some instances kill them off.

You need thriving microbiology in your soil in order to convert the organics into useable ions that the plants roots can uptake.

IMO use your current grow and bloom.

Continue using your grow for 3-4weeks during 12/12 then cut it 50/50 with the bloom from that point on.

See how that works.

Then the following grow after that pick up the PK1314 and see whether it helps increase yield.

Sometimes with the right NPK an extra PK boost isn't always required.

Like the sound of this mate, thanks will give it a go.

So would no organic product from them be of any use to me?

This contains all kinds of good stuff which i was also considering... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLANT-MAGIC-PLUS-CATALYST-250ml-/130470019331?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item1e609e8103

Like I've mentioned already to plenty of people on this site I use only a basic set of nutes.

NPK 6-3-8 AQUA VEGA chem's
PK1314 chem
Ca chem
Mg chem
Rhizotonic
Silicon chem

Rhizotonic is very similar to the catalyst. Lots of little goodies. However I ease back during flowering with mine.

Personally though I've learned through changing very small things at a time to see the subtle differences each change makes.

what type of soil would you recomend for a beginner last time i just used miracle gro straight out of the compost bags and used basic fertilizer for fruit plants planning getting going again vsoon i threw in a bit of perlite and that seemed to do the job as well it turned out really well i got 2 oz of 5 plants am using a small tent and i 250w lamp was maybe thinking about kicking it up to 400w but not sure ?these all look like good ideas but i try to keep it as simple as possible!any pointers would be welcomed.

Any soil can be used. Its about the user that creates problems.

IMO though something light without months and months of nutes mixed it.

Nothing with +3months of nutes.

Then you can cut it will peat/perlite some lime for balancing pH.

But I ain't a soil guy so I don't really know many soils. I'm coco. Now if you wouldn't mind hijacking someone else's thread. Or better yet starting your own.

Thank you.

Just thought I would show my room and what's currently happening.

First of all, here are 3 shots of my walkway and closet.

First pic should be the door in the stud wall. This door opens into my bedroom and it is located behind a shelving unit placed in front of it.

Second pic is my storage area for my nutes, water containers, dehumidifier etc.

Third pic is of the view down to the closet itself.

And finally the seedlings.

At present I have 2xfruity chronic juice up and out and the critical+.

I am waiting on one of the FCJ to pop above ground. This perticular one had actually grown inward into the coco and it had snapped the cotelydons off the stem. So I planted a new seed. This is the one I'm waiting on.

The closest of the 2 seedlings to the camera in the 2seedling pic is an FCJ with only one cotelydon the other got stuck inside the seeds shell and when I helped the plant out it tore off.

Forgot to mention that this is 7 days after planting unsoaked seeds into wet coco and lighting them up with a 400w HPS on 18/6.

Yes it's a bit much running the 400w for the seedlings but I couldn't be bothered getting my seed starting box out of my shed. Lol.

Hey folks.

Well its very nearly time for me to start out my next seeds.

....
Help me out.

J
I've heard good things about the DELICIOUS SEEDS FRUITY CHRONIC JUIC, may I ask what do you like about it?

And do you source it locally or via the web?

Cheers.
