the more sand you use the less settling
any organic material left under the floor(topsoil) will eventually degrade and settle
a standard patio where i live (MI) would be 4" fill sand with 1" silica then pavers
doing this will provide a very stable patio and it will have fantastic drainage(although an area with poor drainage may need a dry well)

This area has good drainage. It has been turned over and potting soil added to grow tomatoes in the past. I removed most of it when I dug this out though. I sunk the 4x4's down 2 feet and no clay at all so I think we got drainage. More sand less settling. Got it.

bro i no i cant really get up off ma ass and help you but heres some info were i live tons and tons of sand if your buying sand b carful cuz sandburs tend to like sand so if you choose to use sand put down like a layer of sand layer of gravel then repeat just an idear bro

Yea, I was thinking about putting down a layer of vinyl under the sand to keep weeds out but I would lose the drainage. So, I figured fuck it. I will get some round up and spray anything that makes it inside.
Got more of the floor done today.

I know what its like though. I used to manage a Levitz. (furniture store) Sometimes people would come to shop for furniture at 8:55 too.
Thing is, furniture takes a long time to pick out and there were times I was there a couple hours after close. I got tired of it so at 8:45
I would announce " Attention please, Levits will be closing in 15 minutes, We will be open at 10 AM tomorow. Thanks for shopping at Levitz."
Then I would go to the door and lock it. I would stand there and let people out but not in. If the DM heard about it I would have caught
some shit be he never did.

Good idea but I dont think Im gonna need it. Plants are going to be in large pots. The only time that floor is gonna see water is when I flush. Unless I pull out a few pavers and go in the ground. Thats one of the reasons I went with this. Gives me the option.
Yea, not to mention the additional humidity, breeding ground for bugs and the smell standing water can do. It dont rain much here anyways.
Yep. Thats the plan. The patio is slightly slanted to the left too so that will minimize runoff into the floor.drainage? itll have a roof...............
Finished the floor today.
next will be the back wall. Im gonna build it, attach the siding and cut vents on the bottom. Once I got it built I will stand it up and attach it to the 4x4's
