Yeah i have dual spec bulbs myself.
I wondered if your ballast was buzzing a lot as some buzz more than others and it can screw up your pics with lines, all fluro tubes screw the pics with lines on a digital camera
I always use both spectrum's to but i get the blue from fluro tubes and using a dual spectrum bulb.
Plants love both at once all the way through imo and they do much better when they get them both all the way through.
Be careful to cool the hood adequately though
im using 2 125 watt high spectrum cfls blue,,i hav another red spectrum,, its my first grow,,i was gonna change to hps,,but alot of ppl use cfls and seem to get on ok,,hav you had any probs with them

No pro cfls are great as long as you have small plants or a lot of them.
The best thing about a hps is that it gives much bigger and higher quality buds.
Its true that you can use cfls to get a load of bud but you need a lot of them and its more hassle than just having one hps lamp imo
you need an hps light on that and take the cfls off this setup will take to long to grow trust me I use mh and hps to veg it grows faster its the closest to the sun I have found.
just bought hps/mh 400 mini for flowering but will still use this for veg as it acttually works very well and with the exhaust fan in the top i can run this ON TOP of my plants thanx
