My kick ass 400w grow tent setup w/ waterfarm

Just made my first clones. I followed the directions on everything. Only thing is that the parents were only about 3 weeks old. Does it look setup correctly. Anyone who has used the daisy cloner advice is appreaciated.

Ok, I cleaned them up a bit. Removed bottom leaves and cut top leaves to reduce perspiration.

What do you think? They look better at least.

4/10/08 (day 19)

This pic is after I took 8 clones from the 3 big plants. I removed the lowest branches. They needed to come off the plant anyhow.

Well my clones are looking 100% better since I hacked them off the plant 24 hours ago. They are now all standing up on thier own now. Isnt that a bit soon? I read they wouldnt start to improve until after a week. I swear I think they are still vegatating.

I have three tents setup, one HomeBox Small (23.5" x 23.5" x 47.25") its the one in the corner of the room cost $100 , 2 HTG tents in my closet (20" x 36" x 64") tents, cost $150 each. Both HTG tents have a 400W lights. The HomeBox Small has a 200W (5000K)CFL light. The idea is to have the mother plants about 3-4 alive in a vegatative state in the HomBox, take clones and flower them in the 2 larger tents under a HID light. The HomeBox is well made, I would reccomend them, the HTG tents are not made quite as well. I dont think I would try another one. I would go with a HomeBox, Or Dark Room tent. They are both made well.

I moved the plants around finally, this was done just to give them some elbow room. I have a light meter and there is no difference from one spot to another. It's a very tight setup. Like I said the tent your looking at is only 20"x36"x65". That why I put two of them in the closet. I have thought about pulling the tents out and just painting the room white, etc... but the tents give me full control over the air flow.

Day 22

Here is a pic of the HomeBox Small 23.5"x23.5"x47.25"

I live alone and if anyone should say something about it, I just tell them is for my clothes.

Thanks for the review. I was actually leaning towards the HTG ones, but the homebox looks pretty good. Doesn't it get really hot in them though? Any chance of a pic of how the light it set up in the homebox?

The HTG tents are nicely sized, and if you need that size tent you dont have any other choices, my only real complaint are two things: (1) The zippers are already coming off, the threads are weak. I could get out a needle and thread and fix it. And im sure thats what Ill end up doing in the end. (2) There not totally light proof. I have zipped it up and poked my head through a 5" duct hole and could see light coming in through the seams. So I dont think its ideal to flower in one tent with a bright light on outside the tent. That was the original plan, but now I moved it to the smaller HomeBox tent. Much thicker canvas, more solid in constuction, and light proof. Take a look at the pics,

I was able to get my very last White Widow seed to sprout, its in the back left corner. Its my last hope and it better be a girl. I also have some feminized strains growing. But so far, the mystery bag seed is the best, fastest, most impressive plant I have sprouted to date. It's kind of confusing, should I focus my attention on the fastest growing plants? That would mean that these expensive seeds I bought werent needed. I just havent got enough experience yet, Ill keep em all growing until I have absolutely no space left anywhere for them. Then I will make some cuts.

Well after reading through other grow journals I decided to fimm my 3 big plants. There 22 days old and turning into monsters. This shoud curve the upward growth a bit forcing side branches to take over. Well that's what I understood from the technique.

Here is pic, its hard to get a clear photo of it, but I left a little bit of the node. I made the cut at a 45 degree angle.

I had been wanting to get something like that for when I start flowering in a few weeks. Unfortunately the lights I have for flowering are a 24" T5 hood. 24" hood wont fit in a 20" box. The price is right and all, but it's just alittle too small. I'll Figure something out.

Day 23

Unreal how fast these plants are growing. I mean I wanted fast growing plants, but I didn't think I would be that lucky.

If I dont flower soon they will overgrow the tent. I took 3 clones yesterday from my Endless Sky (front left corner), Ill wait a few days and if Im confident they are going to root, I will go ahead and flip the switch to 12/12. Im thinking by day 28, 4 week mark, no later. That should mean about 40-60 more days and I will have my first real harvest!

I have decided to flip the switch so to say, I'm going into turbo flowering mode!!! I have taken my clones in a veg state, and I'm going to assume they are all going to survive. That being said I don't want to wait any longer to see what I have got (boys or girls). So with a drum roll please.......

Here is my new light schedule: (military time)

Sunday On 1:12 - Sunday Off 22:48
Monday On 10:48 - Tuesday Off 8:24
Tuesday On 20:24 - Wednesday Off 18:00
Thursday On 6:00 - Friday Off 3:36
Friday On 15:36 - Saturday Off 13:12

That equates to 9:36 (On) /12 (off) or 21:36 in a full cycle. It should speed things up. I will have more light than the sun can offer. Every week Is the equivalent to 8.25 days on my light schedule. So in 6 weeks I will gain an extra week. What do you guys think? Yes, I know change is difficult and makes us all uncomfortable. But I'm leaving my comfort zone and trying out a cool idea.

That's kinda crazy. I'm looking foward to seeing how it turns out.
