My leaves are turning yellow please help!

I am growing 2 plants in DWC each in separate 5 gallon buckets. Both plants are 5 weeks into flowering and the fan leaves are starting to turn yellow. I have two grow books but neither addresses this problem. What can i do to correct this problem?

You got any pics. There could be a thousand things causing it and a picture is worth a thousand words. Also whats your light/nute lineup?

no pics sorry. just imagine a perfectly looking plant budding nicely but with just 5 or 6 yellow leaves on it... the stems also turn purple if left for a few days on the plant. Forgot to add in previous post that both are White widow

If the stems are turning purple then its usually a N deficiency.

BUt without pics its gonna be hard to diagnose this correctly for you..

Some foliage naturally becomes yellow and falls, generally the lower foliage that isnt getting enough light.

Yellow leaves and Purple stems as i mentioned above is usually a N deficiency but dont go bombarding your plants with N as you will probably cause toxicity.

A+ advice.

Purple stems are textbook N deficiency. Sulfur, too, but that is typically coupled with N deficiency, because S relies on N. Or vice versa...

Like the man said, don't go crazy with it.
