MY LIGHT IS BLINKING WHEN I TURN IT UP

So I’m in the process of my build and tonight I plugged in one of my new lights for the first time and when I turned it up to 50% it started to blink or strobe if you will... The only thing I have done to this point is check the plug wiring to make sure the connections were good.

For reference I have done all the wiring (except the panel, and I am by no means an electrician). I have wired a 240v 30a circuit with the intention of eventually running 6 lights on this circuit. I installed outlets rated for 250v but because of that I had to rewire plugs that would fit that outlet.

My intention is to check the output of the outlet but I had to go purchase a meter tonight.Tomorrow morning test the outlet and if that checks I will try a different driver. But I was hoping that drawing from all the experience here that someone might be able to call me an idiot and tell me what’s actually going on.

The driver is an
inventronics eud-600s12adt

And the light is a
Meijiu F8 Plus 650w V2

It might also be that 50% output is the max amps out for that driver at the voltage of the bars. Iirc correct this is a constant power driver and they work a bit different. Measure the dc output (V and A) of the driver at 50%: I suspect you'll have 600w output if you multiply V with A.
so I tested DC and here’s what I got

71.7 at 25%
71.8 at 50%
60.4 at 100%
Now I’m even more confused lol!
I am trying to figure out how to measure amps now

Since the rated output of that driver tops out at 60Vdc, getting 70V suggests something's wrong.

What's the dets on the second driver? Voltage/current/model nr?

This is a really tricky one...

I've worked with meanwells constant power drivers and the gist of it is they can handle a wide range of output voltage and the current will adapt so that output in watts is the same: your driver has 10A max out when running a 60V setup but you can squeeze out 12.5 with 48V. If your driver works in the same way as the mw constant power drivers you can still try to output those 12.5A even if you have a higher than 48 voltage, but this is were the driver would just shut down.
Usually when it's flickering like that it's basically cause the load has too high forward voltage.
Maybe your driver just flickers rather than shut down. If the strips voltage is around 60V and (just like the meanwells) the dimming knob gives you access to the full current range it would be normal for the driver to act up. Cause you'd be trying to output 12.5A at 60V (750w total) which would trip up the driver.
My advice: ask meijiu what's the supposed voltage of the fixture, this could give you info re if the driver is actually doing what it's supposed to.

This could also be it, if you connected this in series instead of parallel then again voltage would be too high. Series means all the strips are connected in a long string, parallel means all + are connected together to the drivers + and vice versa with negative.

Depends on how he measured, open circuit voltage is speed at 70V, and usually the real numbers are a bit higher. OP, did you measure the dc out with the light connected?

That’s what I thought. It makes no sense that I would get 71v at 25 and 50% but it blinks at 50% and not 25%... and then at full power it’s showing 60v. I am going back to exchange my meter for a clamp style meter with the hope that it will eliminate any user error.
