Hey Oh, I was wondering if you ever got your setup worked out? I was reading and thinking that your good with that hood and fan, I wouldn't change it. I would use duct reducers on the hood and run 6" out of the tent. I am sure you know but make sure that your sucking cool air in and blowing over your light, also make sure this hot air is able to leave the room the tent is in. If your running CO2 then you know you need a sealed room. If not I would make sure to have a separate 6" fan pulling through the scrubber with a speed control on it. With that setup I would leave my passive intakes open and use the duct fan on the same timer as the scrubber that way your tent will be pretty cool. Your scrubber may not have to run all the time if your ambient temps starting out are low enough.
Good Luck and happy growing.

thanks for the input!! highly appreciated! i have figured out the exhaust. i have it set up with the reducer on the outside of the tent, ducting from the hood to the side port, and the exhaust fan is mounted to the wall outside the tent. the ducting runs from the fan, and that is exhausted out of the room. i have a new portable a/c unit that is making the ambient temps 66 with the lights off and tent closed, inside the tent it gets pretty low. id say 77 or lower, with lights off and tent closed. with the lights on i have the tent open. the ambient room temps get to 75-77. inside tent it gets about 77-79. NEVER above 80, unless im doing something in there then maybe it may get to 81 for a little bit. im not sure what a scruber is...can you please explain. i have plans on getting Co2 and a carbon filter, or some kind of smell reducer/filter/whatever. i have to have to have the smell filter attached to the ducting before it exits the room. its really the only way i can have it. i have thought about installing it in the tent, but my tent really isn't that burly and im afraid anymore weight may compromise the integrity of the frame. something i do not want to chance at all. last thing i need is to have my hood come crashing down on my plants. until i get a stronger support beam, im not taking any chances. i have to get Co2, and a carbon filter of some kind. im not going to say "money is no object", but at the same time, i do not want to half ass my set up. i want the best or the 2nd best i can get. until i move and can DIY everything, this is the route im taking for now. plus i have alwasy found when starting a new hobby or project, getting the best equipment makes it a lot easier to learn. my experiences anyways.

so thanks on the advise. its good to know i have everything i need to run a sufficient grow. my main goal is to harvest every 30 days. i want to harvest at least 1g/watt. i know i won't get that this time, although i wont complain if i do. but by the third grow that is my goal. i even hear that 3g/watt is the new norm...i still think that's a ways away fro me, lol!!
