my new set up and fans please give some tips

is the way its set up ok for now? and are these fans good enough? ill post pics of my plants if needed or just check out my profile to see my babies

it looks pretty good , but you should have your lights hanging above your plants , not beside them , or your hole plant will look sideways lol

yea lol i figured that i have to build a shelf and mount them to the bottom of it when i get some extra loot

lol , well when you get the time and money to do that also make sure that your lights are close to the top of the plant , but not close enuff to burn it , just put your hand above the plant and lower the light and when the back of your hand starts getting hot then move it up a bit till its just warm and not feeling any discomfert , but other then all that , that should probably do for now

do you think i should use reflectors or dont really need it if they are getting enough light?

yeah , reflectors are always good lol , a plant can never get enuff light , but if you wanted to put reflectors all around the plants do not use tin foil , get a roll of Mylar , its only 25 bucks and its like metal paper pretty much , tin foil has hot spots and can burn the plants lol , and thats not good

yeah you could eather build a box , or buy a box , but if you dont really have alot of money , like me lol , then you could build one , i got a box that only holds one plant , but i plan on growing outdoor and getting some clones , but depending on how many plants you plan to grow and how high you want them , then just build a box that you think will suit your plants but you have to have enuff room for them to grow , for now tho you dont need anything high'r then 3 or 4 feet , even 2 , or even if you have an old computer you can actually make a PC grow box , i have one , i havent used it but ive seen some insane plants growing in one , just search for PC Grow Box , but your probably lookin for somthin that will fit those lights , so id say build a box about 3 feet wide , 3 or 4 feet tall , how ever tall you can get it , line it with Mylar metal , put a fan for in-take and a fan for out-take so you can have cool air running through it , so one fan to blow in the box and one fan to blow the air out of the box , hook your lights up and your fans to a timer and your good to go , you can get timers from anywhere to 10 , to 50 bucks , they are pretty cheap tho lol but they work great

what if you hang your lights above then attach the mylar like at an angle?

kinda like a canopy or umbrella




but a box would be nice to control the surrondings more....

as far as i know , mylar is wayy to flimsy and probably wouldent hold up like that , theres no harm in trying tho , but my guess it would be like

mylar |lights| mylar

instead and if it was like that it wouldent do anything really

oh... well they have styrofoam coated with mylar thats a little more rigid but even then it was just a thought

well it was a good thought , i dident even think of that lol , but if you got the styrofoam coated with mylar then that would work , but normal mylar is pretty much like paper , but you also have to think to , styrofoam , on lights? , might burn , might not , its always worth a try tho , id do it lol , but my box isent big enuff for reflectors

but i have seen canopy/umbrella type reflectors before but never with any mylar. plain old WHITE is a good reflector... i also saw thru this link that this foil tape reflects well but never seen its results....

im pretty sure the foil tape is mylar just with a sticky side lol , but ive used the tape and it works pretty good but you would go through alot of rolls to cover the inside of a box so the amount of money you would spend on a few rolls would be just as much as to buy a big ass roll for 25 bucks and its like 50 feet or somthin , im not too sure lol

yeah , i took a look at it , it would work , but not as good as just putting up a canopy or somthing , thats just for starting plants off , you want somthin for the hole thing , cuz eventually you will have to change your lights and you will need all the light you can get an the tape on the bulb will just block some of the light
