My new setup

Ive been lurking around this forum for a while now.. guess its time I post something.

I made this setup after learning about the basics of aeroponics from stinkbuddie's site.
I made the cloner and one of the flower units and kept them in my back yard. I couldn’t fit it into my closet so I augmented the main design to fit with what I had to work with.

I started off with a bunch of clones. I just wanted to see if the cloner I made even worked. I got some GDP cuttings from a collective near my work given to me when they were trimming back their mothers. I filled it up with water from the tub, skipped the hormone stuff, and left the cloner out on my porch for a couple weeks. One day roots started coming out of the bottom of the stems.

Then they kept growing.
cloneface.jpgI was going to put some of them into the ground outside but my landlord has some things in a shed in my backyard and pops in from time to time, so outdoor isn’t my best option.

I had a tray that my friend found in a canyon that had a broken drainage nipple on, it and various pvc connectors from my old sprinklers and the last system I made. I knew in my head what I wanted but didn’t have a lid to go over the top of it. I found a container at target for 17 bucks that fit inside the tray almost perfectly :hump:… and after a little sanitization I was able to start bringing the design to life.

I laid out the 1/2" pvc how I thought it should go and eyeballed the cuts with my skill saw.

After putting the container over it I decided to add another row of sprayers to it to give the roots a little more to work with.

after a little red hot blue glue the pipes were ready to be drilled. I used an 11/64 drill bit to make holes

I didn’t have a half inch valve laying around so it was time to sacrifice the flower unit for now.

I wish I would have waited to glue the caps on the ends because there are little pieces of plastic in the pipes from drilling the holes. I cut the valve off with enough pipe leftover to add a coupler to it and connected it to the frame without gluing it. then I ran water through it for a couple minutes to get all the plastic burrs out and water the orange tree :weed:

I set it up on a chair to see what it would look like... and too look for my stupid hole saw blades :joint::bigjoint:
